Marella Cruises will introduce a new à la carte dining option on Marella Voyager, with Umi Sushi scheduled to open on board in December 2025.
The venue will be the ship’s fourth à la carte restaurant and its 17th dining outlet, expanding the variety of cuisine available to guests.
The 34-seat restaurant will operate daily from 18:30 to 21:00 and will offer a menu focused on Japanese-style dishes, including ramen, sushi, and sashimi.

The cruise line says the concept aims to provide more choice for customers seeking different culinary experiences during their cruise.
“We wanted to bring something fresh and exciting for our customers onboard Marella Voyager, and Japanese cuisine offers the perfect balance of flavour, artistry and variety,” said Luke Murphy, Senior Product Development Manager at Marella Cruises.
“From soul-warming ramen and vibrant poke bowls, Umi Sushi delivers a dining experience that’s both adventurous and comforting. This fourth a la carte restaurant is ideal for customers looking to explore new tastes while enjoying the unrivalled service from our crew and a relaxed atmosphere onboard the ship,” he added.
Umi Sushi will operate as a pre-bookable experience priced at £18.95. The package includes a ramen dish, two small plates, two further selections from sushi, sashimi or poke dishes, and a dessert.
The menu also incorporates a trio of accompanying bites served with each meal, consisting of edamame, seaweed crackers, and Asian pickles.

Ramen options will include several protein choices such as Char Siu Pork Fillet, Golden Panko Chicken, or Miso Tofu. Guests will additionally be able to choose from a range of Otsumami small plates intended for sharing, including Katsu Chicken Wings, Pork Gyoza, Crab Shumai, and Steamed Bao Buns.
Sushi and poke dishes will be prepared at a counter on board and made to order. Variants listed include the Mr Chang roll featuring prawn tempura, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayonnaise, and crispy crumb; the Legend with crab, roasted red pepper, Japanese mayonnaise, and smoked caviar; East ‘Meats’ West with bacon, beef sirloin, and cheese wrapped in potato strings; and Teriyaki with chicken, avocado, and teriyaki sauce.
Vegetarian and seafood options such as Teriyaki Tofu, Tuna Poke, and Salmon Sashimi will also be offered.
Desserts will consist of a Chocolate and Miso Torte served with toasted sesame cream, a Strawberry and Lime Leaf Cheesecake, and Mochi Ice Cream in three flavours: strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla.
The venue will join Silver Fork, Kora La, and Surf & Turf, which are already available across the Marella fleet, which is part of TUI Group and operates an all-inclusive model that covers tips and service charges.
Marella Cruises currently has five ships in service: Marella Discovery, Marella Discovery 2, Marella Explorer, Marella Explorer 2, and Marella Voyager.
Umi Sushi’s introduction follows the addition of Marella Voyager to the fleet in 2023, with the ship continuing to expand its onboard offering as it enters subsequent seasons of deployment.
