Regent Seven Seas Cruises orders 3rd Prestige class cruise ship from Fincantieri

The Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has announced a new order from Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH) for the construction of an ultra-luxury cruise ship to be operated by Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

The contract, classified as a large-value agreement of between US$500 million and US$1 billion, marks a further expansion of the Regent brand within NCLH, the world’s third-largest cruise company.

The new vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2033 and will be a sister ship to Seven Seas Prestige, the first in Regent’s new Prestige Class currently under construction at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard and set for delivery in 2026.

A second ship in the class is already planned for delivery in 2030, positioning the 2033 vessel as the third addition to this next-generation luxury fleet.

With a gross tonnage of 77,000 and a length of 257 metres, the ship will accommodate 822 guests and offer one of the highest space-to-guest ratios in the cruise industry.

Like its sister ships, the newbuild will be designed to embody refined elegance, featuring advanced sustainability and environmental technologies that reflect the industry’s shift towards cleaner operations.

The ship will offer an array of expansive social, dining, and wellness spaces, including the striking Starlight Atrium, the elegant Prestige Lounge, and the sophisticated Galileos Bar, alongside the spacious Meridian Lounge for evening entertainment.

Guests can enjoy seven restaurants, among them the Mediterranean inspired Azure, the signature steakhouse Prime 7, the French fine dining venue Chartreuse, and the pan Asian restaurant Pacific Rim.

Amenities include an expansive spa and wellness centre, a modern fitness studio, designer boutiques, and a two deck Constellation Theatre. All accommodations are all suite and all balcony, each featuring a private veranda and luxurious interiors designed to reflect the line’s signature standard of comfort and craftsmanship.

Fincantieri has delivered ten ships across NCLH’s three brands, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, with a further thirteen vessels currently on order.

The announcement reinforces Fincantieri’s position as one of the world’s leading shipbuilders in the luxury cruise segment and highlights the continued evolution of Regent Seven Seas Cruises as it prepares to enter a new era defined by larger, more spacious and environmentally advanced vessels.
