TUI Cruises has signed a contract for the design and construction of two new cruise ships, taking the slots originally planned for its Marella Cruises brand in an MoU agreed earlier this year.

The ships, due for delivery in 2031 and 2032, will be sisterships to Mein Schiff Relax and MeinSchiff Flow, which are the first two vessels in TUI’s new InTUItion class.

TUI Cruises, a joint venture between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises Group, has confirmed that the vessels will be powered by dual-fuel engines (LNG and MGO). 

With a gross tonnage of approximately 160,000 tons, the vessels will be the largest in the TUI fleet and will be built according to the latest environmental standards, including shore power connection and advanced catalytic converters, allowing for significantly reduced emissions while in port.

The vessels’ energy-efficient design and alternative fuel capabilities support the cruise line’s long-term goal of climate-neutral cruising.

“This contract reaffirms the trust built over the years and the successful cooperation already achieved with the first two InTUItion class ships,” he added. “It also confirms Fincantieri’s capability to support the fleet growth of the world’s most prominent cruise operators, combining innovation, sustainability, and the Italian shipbuilding excellence.”

The new inTUItion class vessels will carry more than 4,000 passengers, and feature expanded public spaces, multiple dining venues, state-of-the-art entertainment facilities, and a wide range of family-friendly amenities.

While details of the features aboard the new TUI Cruises vessels have not been announced, the upcoming Mein Schiff Flow offers 14 restaurants and 17 bars and cafes, providing an indication of the scale and range of facilities.

Mein Schiff Flow, the second of the inTUItion class ships, is due for delivery in 2026, and will debut in the Middle East during the 2026/27 winter season, sailing roundtrip from Dubai.
