MSC Cruises introduces new simplified specialty dining experience across fleet

MSC Cruises has announced a global update to its specialty dining offering, introducing fixed-fee menus and more flexible dining packages across its fleet, providing guests with greater value, clarity, and convenience when dining in the line’s specialty restaurants.

The changes include a shift to single-price menus at all specialty restaurants, along with pre-purchasable dining packages that allow for greater flexibility in planning onboard culinary experiences.

The new approach is designed to streamline the guest experience and make specialty dining more accessible, according to MSC Cruises.

“Simplified single-price menus mean greater transparency for guests, and customisable packages add flexibility to create a seamless dining experience for our guests,” said Stéphane Franchini, Senior Director of Food and Beverage Product, MSC Cruises. “With these enhancements, MSC Cruises continues to redefine dining at sea, offering guests an unforgettable gastronomic journey with world-class cuisine and ultimate versatility.”

Under the new structure, guests will pay a single fixed price for access to the full menu in each specialty restaurant, selecting at least one starter, one main, and one dessert. Premium items, such as Ozaki Wagyu beef, will be available for a small supplemental fee.

Guests will also be able to pre-purchase dining packages covering one to four specialty meals. These packages are customisable, allowing guests to repeat visits to favourite venues if desired. Packages purchased in advance of sailing will be discounted by up to 20%, providing additional value for early planners.

The new package includes customisable specialty dining options

“With increasing demand from our guests for flexibility, transparency, and personalisation, this upgrade further strengthens our culinary product, offering today’s cruisers what they expect and deserve,” said Georg Schmickler, Senior Vice President On-Board Revenues, MSC Cruises.

The changes form part of MSC Cruises’ broader effort to refine its onboard culinary programme, which includes a mix of traditional and contemporary international cuisine served in main dining rooms, casual venues, and a growing portfolio of specialty restaurants.

The updated packages are now available to book. MSC Cruises has indicated that further enhancements to streamline the dining experience are in development and will be announced in due course.

MSC Cruises is known for its signature specialty dining experiences, including Butcher’s Cut, an American-style steakhouse; Kaito Teppanyaki and Sushi Bar, offering authentic Japanese cuisine; and Hola! Tacos & Cantina, inspired by Latin American street food.

With the latest updates, MSC Cruises aims to make these experiences more accessible and tailored to guest preferences, further enhancing its reputation as a leader in food and beverage innovation at sea.
