Cordelia Cruises has released itineraries for the inaugural season of its new ship Cordelia Sky, which is acquired from Norwegian Cruise Line as part of a long-term charter due to commence next year.

Currently in service for Norwegian Cruise Line as Norwegian Sky, the 1999-built vessel will debut in India on September 28th, 2026, sailing a 5-night cruise to Goa and Lakshadweep roundtrip from Mumbai.

Cordelia Sky will also offer a range of shorter cruises from Mumbai as well, including a 3-night cruise to Goa, and 2-night cruises to nowhere departing each Friday.

From June, 2027 Cordelia Sky will then switch to longer one-way itineraries of 7-nights between Chennai and Singapore, visiting a range of destinations in Southeast Asia, such as Langkawi, Kuala Lumpur and Phuket.

Cordelia Sky will undergo an extensive refit and refurbishment prior to her entry into service with Cordelia Cruises and will offer modern comfort and “vibrant entertainment”, according to the line.

The ship will offer eight dining options, seven bars and lounges, as well as a fitness centre, spa, expansive pool area and a wide range of staterooms and suites, including the Chairman’s Suite.

The largest stateroom onboard, the cabin comes with separate dining and living areas, as well as a balcony with a hot tub.

Cordelia Sky is one of two vessels joining the Indian cruise line’s fleet in the near future. As part of the same long-term charter deal, Norwegian Sun will also be transferred and renamed Cordelia Sun.

The 2001-built ship will join the fleet in November, 2027 and will offer short cruises departing from Mumbai, although the exact itineraries have not yet been released.

Cordelia Cruises’ fleet expansion comes amid robust growth in the Indian cruise sector. According to Maritime India Vision 2030, the Government of India projects potential growth of 800% over the next decade and is implementing investment and policy to make India a significant player in the global cruise market.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has designated cruise tourism as a priority sector, and Cordelia Cruises, which launched operations in 2021, reported recently that it has carried over 530,000 passengers and is operating close to its full capacity.
