Royal Caribbean International to hold auditions in UAE for vocalists and dancers

Royal Caribbean International will hold auditions in the UAE next month seeking new talent across the fleet to perform for more than 115,000 guests who fill its theater spaces each night aboard 28 ships.

Royal Caribbean Entertainment, the shipboard talent arm of the international cruise line, will hold auditions at Sharjah Performing Arts Academy on May 10th and 11th, seeking singers and dancers for its signature production shows, which include Tony Award-winning Broadway shows such as CATS, Saturday Night Fever, Mamma Mia!, The Wizard of Oz, and more.

The cruise line is seeking strong, versatile vocalists with professional performance backgrounds in theatre, concerts, or similar disciplines. Candidates must be able to perform a wide variety of contemporary music genres, including pop, rock, R&B, soul, gospel, contemporary musical theatre/Broadway, and jazz.

Female vocalists should have a strong, controlled belt/mix up to F5 and legit vocals to C6, while male vocalists should be tenors or bari-tenors capable of comfortably singing up to A4 with a falsetto extension to F5.

A background in movement or dance, as well as strong acting ability, is considered an asset.

Royal Caribbean is also seeking professional, seasoned dancers aged 18 and over, with expertise in styles including contemporary, jazz, theatre dance, showgirl, and hip-hop.

Dancers who sing are encouraged to bring their music books in case they are asked to perform a vocal audition.

Auditions will be held by appointment only, with successful candidates required to be available and willing to travel internationally aboard Royal Caribbean’s ships.

Royal Caribbean Entertainment welcomes performers of all gender identities, abilities, and body types, and although performers are strongly encouraged to attend the live audition so that teams can work with them in person, candidates may submit virtually if unable to attend.

Auditions will be held from 10am until 2pm on May 10th and 11th, and all information regarding the auditions, as well as means by which candidates can apply to audition, can be found on the Royal Caribbean Entertainment website.
