Saudi line AROYA Cruises opens up Aroya cruise ship for Iftar and Suhoor during Ramadan

Throughout the holy month of Ramadan, AROYA Cruises will be offering a Ramadan Along the Horizon experience for potential guests to view its ship Aroya while alongside in Jeddah.

Until the end of March, guests will be able to visit the ship and enjoy Iftar and Suhoor offerings along with Ramadan-themed activities, and even stay overnight aboard the ship.

The vessel is docked in front of the Jeddah Yacht Club and is open daily from 3:00 PM to 12:00 PM. Visitors can access onboard facilities, including a fitness center, swimming pool, spa, and one of the largest kids’ clubs at sea.

The programme also features daily talks on Ramadan and its local significance, fitness sessions, and cultural activities.

Guests can opt for an overnight stay, extending their experience in an atmosphere that reflects the region’s Ramadan traditions. The initiative also caters to corporate clients, providing an exclusive venue for events during the holy month.

“Ramadan Along the Horizon aims to offer a distinctive retreat for residents while establishing Jeddah as a key cultural destination for visitors during Ramadan,” the cruise line said in a statement.

AROYA is the Arab world’s first domestic cruise line, catering to the tastes and preferences of the local market in the Middle East. Since launching operations in December last year, it has homeported in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

AROYA acquired the vessel from Dream Cruises in 2023 and sent it to Bremerhaven for a major bow to stern refit and refurbishment. The cruise ship now features an array of shisha lounges, prayer rooms, and the world’s first Saudi Arabian restaurant at sea.

One of the new features that debuted aboard the ship is a souq-inspired shopping district that is said to be the largest retail area at sea, covering 1,585 square meters.

Aroya is currently homeporting in Saudi Arabia, sailing from Jeddah, the itineraries feature visits to destinations in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt, including Aqaba, Port Sokhna and Jabal Al-Sabaya Island.

During the upcoming summer months, the ship will be repositioned to Turkey, sailing a range of Mediterranean itineraries out of Istanbul.

After completing its season in the Mediterranean in late September, Aroya is scheduled to return to the Red Sea via a repositioning voyage to Jeddah. The 12-night voyage will visit destinations in Turkey, as well as Port Suez and Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt.
