AIDA Cruises announces new bars and restaurants for AIDAdiva following major refit

AIDA Cruises will introduce a range of new culinary experiences aboard AIDAdiva following a seven-week drydock from February 3rd to March 22nd, 2025.

The refit and refurbishment, part of AIDA Cruises’ fleetwide modernisation program, will extend the life of the 17-year-old ship and see her re-enter service with eight restaurants and 15 bars, including new venues that expand the range of dining options.

Among the new highlights is the Yacht Club Restaurant, which features a maritime atmosphere with a menu offering seasonal cuisine and international specialties, and a Lanai Bar in the outdoor area, where guests can enjoy a variety of drinks from AIDA Spritz to sundowners.

The French Kiss Restaurant, debuting on Deck 11, will offer classic French dishes like steak tartare, fine cheeses and French pastries, while a new Asian restaurant will serve hot and cold sushi, dim sum, and specialties like Japanese okonomiyaki under cherry trees.

There will also be a special Asian breakfast menu for early risers and the adjacent Tokyo Bar will offer signature Asian-inspired cocktails in the evenings.

The new Tapas & Bar will serve hot and cold tapas alongside Spanish wines and beers, and the Panorama Lounge & Bar on Deck 10, will offer an exclusive bow view with signature drinks and cocktail classics.

AIDA favourites that have long been offered aboard AIDAdiva will get a refresh and upgrade, with the Market Restaurant and Buffalo Steak House both getting new furnishings and décor to bring them in-line with newer iterations in the AIDA fleet.

AIDAdiva is the first ship in the fleet to undergo the refit modernisation at the Chantier Naval shipyard in Marseille, France, with the other six vessels introduced prior to the 2016-built AIDAprima all due to go into drydock in the coming years.

The ships of the Sphinx series were commissioned between 2007 and 2013. With their innovative, open space concept and design, they have decisively contributed to the unique AIDA feeling. Following AIDAdiva, the modernization of AIDAluna and AIDAbella will take place in the fall of 2025 and in the spring of 2026 respectively.

“The desires of our guests constantly inspire us to rethink cruising and take existing concepts to the next level. The ships of the Sphinx series made cruise history with their innovative space concept and design,” said Felix Eichhorn, President of AIDA Cruises.

“We want to build on that with our AIDA Evolution program. Our guests can look forward to an even greater variety of experiences, service and comfort on board,” he added.

Following her dry dock, AIDAdiva will sail three itineraries from Rome/Civitavecchia to Italy and Malta starting March 23rd, 2025. Destinations include Valletta, Siracusa or Catania, Palermo, Naples, and Olbia.

AIDAdiva will then head to her summer home port of Warnemünde, Germany, sailing to destinations in the Baltic Sea region and Norway.
