Silversea’s 149-day 2027 World Cruise is largest to date and includes Cape Town departure

Silversea has unveiled the itinerary for its World Cruise 2027, The Three Oceans, aboard Silver Dawn, one of the smallest world-cruising ships.

Silver Dawn will depart Los Angeles on January 8th and arrive in Copenhagen on June 7th, 2027, calling in 80 destinations in 35 countries on five continents, including 20 new calls for a Silversea World Cruise and 11 overnights.

The ship will stay overnight in iconic destinations such as Honolulu, Cairns, Colombo, Cape Town, Bordeaux, and more, while also spending longer in port than any other World Cruise, enabling greater access to more enriching experiences including the ancient city of Kandy, the Yala National Park, and game drives from Port Elizabeth.

The itinerary features more port calls than any voyage in Silversea’s history, and has been divided into three segments, with each focusing on one of the three oceans covered (Pacific, Indian Ocean, and Atlantic).

The first segment will sail from Los Angeles to Brisbane, Silver Dawn will then sail from Brisbane to Cape Town in South Africa, with the final leg being an African-focused grand voyage from Cape Town to Copenhagen.

Designed by Silversea’s leading destination experts, the 149-day voyage will put the unique cultures, histories, and ideas of the three oceans front and centre, while more than 50 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and long port stays will be offered.

“Calling in more destinations than any voyage in Silversea’s history, we proudly unveil The Three Oceans World Cruise 2027, which broadens our industry-leading offering of extended voyages,” said Bert Hernandez, President, Silversea.

“Traveling aboard Silver Dawn, one of the smallest ships to embark on a World Cruise, our guests will venture off the beaten path to 80 destinations on five continents over 149 days, with the longest stays in port of any World Cruise,” he added.

“They will explore more than 50 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, discover 20 destinations that have never been visited on a Silversea World Cruise, and attend four exclusive World Cruise events – bespoke experiences, curated by our team of experts,” he said. “Garnered over 30 years of operations, our destination expertise will enable our guests to discover the very best experiences in ultra-luxury cruise travel.”

Aboard Silver Dawn

Silver Dawn offers small-ship intimacy and one of the highest space-to-guest ratios at sea. Carrying just 600 passengers, the ship features 7 restaurants, 8 cafes and bars, four lounges including the Observation Library with sweeping views over the bow, along with cruise ship staples such as the show lounge, casino, gym and spa, which features the Roman-inspired Otium wellness program.

S.A.L.T. Cultural Immersion

Silver Dawn also offers guests immersive culinary experiences, both on board and ashore, through Silversea’s S.A.L.T. culinary program. In the S.A.L.T. Lab, an onboard test kitchen, an array of culinary programs curated by regional food experts will enable passengers to get hands-on with local ingredients.

In the S.A.L.T. Kitchen, the menu changes constantly, inspired by regional dishes and flavours. The S.A.L.T. Bar will serve custom-designed cocktails related to visited destinations. Bespoke S.A.L.T. experiences ashore will also enrich guests’ travels.

Among a varied offering of S.A.L.T. enrichments, guests will connect with local culinary cultures on the following experiences ashore, among many others:

The Three Oceans Segments

The Three Oceans World Cruise 2027 offers unprecedented destination diversity, and Silversea says the unique places, cultures, and stories encountered on the cruise will come alive on board and off, as guests celebrate crossing from one to another, with regional events, entertainment, gifts, lectures, and more.

The Pacific

During the first segment of the World Cruise, guests will journey through the Pacific Ocean, from Los Angeles to Brisbane, over 46 days, exploring the unmatched beauty of Hawaii and French Polynesia.

Standout destinations include Hilo, Kahului, and Honolulu in Hawaii; Nuku Hiva; Rangiroa; Moorea; Bora Bora; Apia; Lautoka; Champagne Beach; Lifou; Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays; Darwin; and Brisbane.

As well as having the opportunity to visit the UNESCO-listed Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, guests will enjoy a bespoke World Cruise event on this archipelago, honouring ancient Polynesian seafarers at a sunset ho’olaule’a in Honolulu, with traditional fare, tropical libations, and a night of stargazing.

Extensive safari opportunities will be available during the Indian Ocean segment

The Indian Ocean

On Silver Dawn’s Brisbane to Cape Town leg, guests will have the opportunity to explore ancient cultures and witness iconic wildlife, with a 7-day deep dive of South Africa forming a centrepiece of the cruise.

An included two-night overland experience from Durban to Port Elizabeth will enable world-cruising guests to journey deeper ashore into the heart of southern Africa, immersing them into one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls.

Guests will arrive by air to witness the majesty of these iconic falls from every angle, including a private sunset river cruise. Accommodated in unique comfort in a luxury outpost alongside the Zambezi River, they will discover this mighty natural phenomenon as Dr. Livingstone found it in 1855.

There’ll also be safari experiences to spot the Big Five in some of the planet’s most spectacular landscapes during port calls in South Africa, but other highlights of the cruise include Bali, Semarang, Singapore, Colombo, the Maldives, Seychelles, Reunion, South Africa, and more.

UNESCO-listed highlights of this segment include a visit to the Great Barrier Reef and a chance to explore the Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve on the island of Praslin, Seychelles.

The Atlantic

Sailing from Cape Town to Copenhagen, Silver Dawn will explore the dramatic landscapes and ancient secrets of Africa, the Mediterranean and Europe.

From the fjords of Norway to the remote northern islands of the United Kingdom, the storied maritime history of Northern Ireland, and the famed cities of Northern Europe, the advancement of civilization is open to interpretation in each of the Atlantic Ocean’s varied attractions.

Departing Cape Town and venturing along the west coast of Africa, Silver Dawn will call in Namibia, Angola, Ghana, and Gambia, before arriving in Dakar.

Curated by Silversea’s destination experts, the brand’s guests will enjoy a bespoke night of musical performance at St. Anne’s Cathedral in Belfast, with an evening of harmonies from across the Emerald Isle, fine local gastronomy, and various cultural celebrations in a magnificent setting.
