Regent Seven Seas new ship Seven Seas Grandeur floated out in Italy

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has marked the float out of its new cruise ship, the third in the ultra-luxury Explorer-class, Seven Seas Grandeur.

Seven Seas Grandeur touched water for the first time at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, the same shipyard where her sister ships Seven Seas Explorer and Splendor were built.

The ship is due to be delivered in November this year, and will debut in Miami, sailing roundtrip cruise itineraries to the Caribbean.

Seven Seas Grandeur float out

Seven Seas Grandeur will be near identical to her sister ships at 55,500 gross tons with accommodation for just 746 passengers and the highest staff-to-guest ratio in the industry.

She will have at least 5 dining options, including the signature Compass Rose restaurant and La Veranda buffet restaurant, as well as 5 bars and cafes, including The Cafe, Coffee Connection, Pool grill, Pool bar, and Connoisseur Club.

Specialty dining available aboard Seven Seas Grandeur will include the Asian restaurant Pacific Rim, featuring Pan-Asian creations like Korean barbecue lamb chops and wok-fried beans, as well as the French restaurant Chartreuse, featuring glorious ocean views and the ambiance of a chic, fine-dining restaurant on a Champs-Elysees sidestreet.

Regent’s signature steakhouse Prime 7 will also be included, with classic American fare such as perfectly aged prime New York strip, porterhouse and succulent filet mignon, and smoked salmon with a phenomenal tamarind-whiskey sauce.

New aboard Seven Seas Grandeur is the Culinary Arts Kitchen, an authentic cooking school experience with 18 quartzite and stainless steal cooking stations.

The buffet restaurant, La Veranda, will return aboard Seven Seas Grandeur, but with the addition of Sette Mari, a cozy, over-water alcove for classic Italian specialties.

The Atrium in the centre of the ship will be home to the Casino and Grandeur Lounge with live musix and signature cocktails, as well as a selection of high-end boutiques, while the two-deck Constellation Theatre up in the bow will offer nightly entertainment.

Coffee Connection on the second level of the atrium has been designed as a chic metropolitan café with an ocean view that’s impossible to beat, while the Meridien Lounge opposite is intended to be the cocktail bar for post-theatre performances.

Other amenities aboard Seven Seas Grandeur include the Serene Spa & Wellness, with an expansive health club that includes a private deck at the stern with heated Jacuzzis overlooking the ship’s wake.

The deck above will be home to the ship’s fitness centre, while up on Deck 11 there’s a classic Observation Lounge all the way forward, as well as a Library and Cards Room.
