New activities for children and families introduced aboard Carnival Celebration

Carnival Celebration will introduce an expanded youth program with new activities for children, teens and families, along with an update to Carnival’s Dr. Seuss Bookville program.

Carnival Celebration will feature a new Turtles program for children under the age of two; a Nautical Explorer program for children in Camp Ocean; and Circle C, a new cultural program for younger teens ages 12-14.

While these new features will initially be introduced aboard Carnival Celebration, the cruise line says they will be rolled out across the fleet by the spring of 2023.

Circle C

“The updates we’re making to our youth programming ensure our young cruisers have even more to be excited about when they come aboard,” said Melissa Mahaffey, Director of Youth Experience, Carnival Cruise Line.

“We’ve already seen early success with our launch on Carnival Celebration, and I’m looking forward to expanding the reach of our new additions to families sailing with us across our fleet,” she added.

The new Turtles program will be the most expansive offerings to date for children under the age of two. It includes a range of activities including Turtle Playdates, Turtle Band, toddler sensory activities, and Baby Turtle Trek.

The Turtles program also offers drop-off time in Camp Ocean and late-night babysitting.

Camp Ocean

The Nautical Explorer program will be made available for children in Camp Ocean in which Carnival’s youngest guests participate in maritime-themed activities, such as designing their own giant cruise ship and using a compass.

Carnival Celebration will also introduce an expanded Dr. Seuss Bookville program. Iconic characters from Dr. Seuss, such as Thing One, Thing Two and The Cat in the Hat will be brought to life.

The program is already available aboard Mardi Gras, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Panorama and Carnival Vista.

Carnival Celebration is also launching another cultural program inspired by the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japan.

Called Circle C, it will offer younger teens ages 12-14 the chance to take part in activities like anime drawing lessons and pop culture games. Those in the 15-17 age group can experience an authentic tea ceremony, Japanese crafts, and games at Club O2.

Carnival Celebration is the second of Carnival Cruise Line’s Excel class cruise ships, the largest it has ever operated. These new ships are powered by LNG and feature six separate ‘zones’, with their own unique entertainment, activities, dining and relaxation options.

A particularly popular feature of the Excel class ships in the Carnival fleet is the BOLT roller coaster up on the top deck in the Ultimate Playground zone.
