Ambassador Cruise Line will feature South Africa on its first World Cruise with new ship Ambience during the 2023/24 cruise season.
The news was announced as part of the reveal of Ambassador Cruise Line’s 2023/24 cruise itineraries, which will see its two ships Ambition and Ambiance sail to and from six continents and 58 countries, calling at 165 ports and offering a number of themed cruises.
Ambition will depart from both the line’s homeport of London Tilbury and six new regional UK ports – Newcastle, Dundee, Liverpool, Belfast, Bristol and Falmouth – while Ambience will sail a 120-night around the world cruise.
“We are extremely excited to be able to offer our guests several very attractive launch offers, a range of new and exciting itineraries as part of our 2023/24 programme and launch our second ship Ambition’s inaugural season,” said Christian Verhounig, CEO, Ambassador Cruise Line.
“Following the success of Ambience’s launch, our ethos of premium-value, authentic and friendly cruising remains our focus… It is a privilege to launch Ambassador’s new season and we hope that both the travel trade and our guests benefit from the excellent value fares and offers across our ships,” he added.
Ambiance launched last month as the cruise line’s first ship, while its second ship Ambition begins sailing next year. Both vessels were acquired as second-hand ships and thoroughly refit and refurbished for Ambassador, which is a new iteration of the UK’s Cruise & Maritime Voyages, which was forced into liquidity by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
On her World Cruise via South Africa, Ambiance will sail from the UK to the Azores and Caribbean, transit the Panama Canal and call at islands in the South Seas. She will then move on to New Zealand and Australia, before exploring Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
The Indian Ocean islands will be visited as stepping stones to Kenya, with Durban and Cape Town and other destinations in Africa for passengers to explore, before she sails to Tristan da Cunha, the most remote inhabited archipelago in the world.
Passengers will then cross the Atlantic to Brazil for Rio de Janeiro, before returning home via Cape Verde, Casablanca in Morocco and Lisbon in Portugal. Prices start at £9,229 per person sharing.
Closer to home in the UK, Ambition will cruise to the West Indies, Brazil’s Amazon and Norway, with 49 sailing available in 2023. Its maiden voyage on March 4th next year consists of Scandinavia with sojourns in Norway, Denmark and Sweden. Passengers will encounter the island city of Kristiansand, Norway, Copenhagen, Denmark and Gothenburg, Sweden. Prices start at £569 per person.
Savings on the line’s premium drinks package, free Essex Cricket Club matchday tickets, a a 5% group discount on selected sailings with preferential dining arrangements and solo traveller options are among the line’s launch offers.
