AIDAsol to cruise via Cape Town on her second World Cruise in 2023

AIDA Cruises will be sending AIDAsol on its 2023 World Cruise itinerary, marking the ship’s second time sailing the grand voyage for the cruise line, and her first time visiting South Africa.

AIDAsol’s 2023 World Cruise is open for sale now, offering 43 ports of call in 20 countries on 4 continents, including several ports in South Africa and Namibia.

During the 117-day cruise, AIDAsol will cross the equator twice as guests experience legendary destinations, from Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro, to Tahiti and Fiji, and New Year’s Eve in Sydney with the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge as a backdrop.

The 2023 World Cruise departs Hamburg, Germany on October 27th next year, sailing south for Cape Verde and Tierra del Fuego, Tahiti and Fiji, Mauritius and southern Africa.

Before reaching Africa, however, AIDAsol will call on the coast of South America, visiting Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

“South America has even more to offer than tango, samba and soccer – for example unique natural spectacles such as the Iguazú waterfalls, which are among the largest on earth,” it adds of Buenos Aires.

Then its on to South Africa and Namibia where guests will experience the charms of Africa in all its beauty: from the picturesque Table Mountain backdrop of Cape Town to the impressive African wildlife and the huge sand dunes of the Namib Desert.

AIDAsol will also call in Richards Bay, Durban, and Port Elizabeth, in addition to Cape Town and Walvis Bay, before heading for Patagonia & Tierra del Fuego and the islands of the South Pacific.

“The rugged landscape at the southern end of the world is overwhelmingly beautiful – majestic ice masses, snow-covered peaks, primeval forests and lonely fjords will leave a lasting impression,” says AIDA. “With a little luck, encounters with minke whales, sea lions, fur seals and other animal species are possible on the Beagle Channel.”

There’ll be diving opportunities among the numerous coral reefs in Fiji, as well as lazy days on powder-sugar white beaches in Tahiti, Moorea, Vanuatu and New Caledonia, before spending New Year in Sydney.

Delivered in 2011, AIDAsol is the fifth Sphinx-class ship built by the cruise line. She features eight unique restaurants, 13 bars, the Body & Soul Spa, a sport court, a theater and even a brewery.
