As the 2020 Dubai Expo and the current Dubai cruise season enter their final month, Dubai Customs is handing out free tickets to the event for all cruise passengers arriving in the city.
Dubai Customs has distributed 443 free one-day admission tickets for passengers arriving at the emirate’s air, sea, and land ports.
The Expo tickets are given to passengers coming to Dubai onboard cruises at Port Rashid, as well as those arriving through the Hatta Border Crossing and Dubai Airports.

“It is part of our ongoing support to the world’s greatest show,” said Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department, Dubai Customs. “Being one of Expo 2020 Dubai’s official supporting entities, we have been strongly aiding and promoting the event through a number of social initiatives and programmes.”
“It is important we keep the momentum in promoting the event until the last day because it is the world’s biggest event and it is the first time the exhibition is hosted in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia regions,” he added.
The Dubai Expo ends on Thursday, March 31 this year, with a whole host of events taking place as the world fair wraps up, these include performers including AR Rahman, the Oscar-winning composer, with the Firdaus women’s orchestra, and insightful forums on the state of the planet, and 300 athletes from 30 countries competing in the World Aerial Gymnastics Championship 2022.
Visitors can also gain an interesting perspective of the site through bike tours that are conducted daily at 10am and 4pm.
A 10-minute dazzling drone and light show at the China pavilion is another memorable experience for visitors. Hundreds of drones take to the sky above the red, lantern-shaped pavilion at 8pm daily and dance to music as they shift shapes to form leaves, stars and butterflies.
Like the Dubai Expo, the current Dubai cruise season will also wrap up at the end of March. Four cruise ships homeported in Dubai from November, 2021 to February and March this year.
TUI Cruises’ ship Mein Schiff 6 has already left, and the remaining three will depart on their repositioning cruises back to Europe in the last week of March and first week of April.
Mein Schiff 6 left the region on February 28th for a cruise to Greece, while Costa Firenze will depart March 19th for Italy, MSC Virtuosa will depart March 26th for Italy, and AIDAbella will depart April 9th for Palma De Mallorca.
