Celebrity Cruises has announced a new post- and pre-cruise program called Hotels by Celebrity, offering guests the opportunity to spend a few days more in embarkation ports.
The program will offer four- and five-star hotels at exclusive rates for Celebrity guests, according to the cruise line.
Celebrity said it intended to create “a streamlined and stress-free experience when planning cruise vacations” through the program.

“Hotels by Celebrity will go beyond helping guests book a place to stay before or after their sailings, with a seamless experience providing access to some of the world’s best hotels at attractive rates in the world’s most beautiful cities and ports Celebrity visits,” the company said in a press release.
“We’re so excited to offer this new service to all of our guests,” said Brian Abel, Celebrity’s Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations. “Travel is meant to eliminate the stress in our lives, and Hotels by Celebrity makes finding the perfect accommodations easy and luxurious.”
“Now, guests will be assured of comfortable stays that meet their needs as they prepare for their cruise or extend their vacation a little longer,” he added.
In addition to access to some of the world’s most trusted hotel brands, the new service will provide guests with intricate details about the properties they book, including hotel amenities and services, accommodations visuals, and previous guest reviews.
When booking a sailing with Celebrity Cruises, guests will then be presented with an option to book pre- or post-cruise accommodations.
The new service will offer the most suitable accommodations to fit a variety of needs: from proximity to local attractions to the number of guests in the traveling party.
The new program is only available to North American guests at present, and it’s not clear when it will be offered to additional cruise markets.
Pre- and post-cruise hotel stays have always been popular with cruise passengers wanting to experience more of the culture and sights and sounds of the destinations visited by the cruise, but in the post-pandemic cruise market they have become a safer and more convenient option.
If passengers are required to quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure or contagion, or if the cruise is delayed due to COVID-19 disruption, hotel bookings are automatically amended or refunded by the cruise line, rather than having to deal with a hotel or travel agent separately.
