New Azamara ship Azamara Onward to cruise Istanbul and Eastern Med in 2022

Azamara’s new cruise ship, Azamara Onward, will cruise 22 European itineraries and offer three related land explorations when she is brought into service.

Azamara Onward, the former Pacific Princess, which was purchased by Azamara in January, will sail its first season in Azamara colours in spring, 2022.

Her maiden and christening voyage will set sail May 2nd, 2022 from Monte Carlo, Monaco.

The 11-night cruise across the Mediterranean will conclude in Venice, from which the ship will then sail a number of roundtrip 7 and 11-night cruises, switching homeports between Athens and Venice.

Azamara Onward will continue Azamara’s Destination Immersion focus, with half of its voyages being Country-Intensive itineraries, allowing more time to explore a single country’s hidden gems.

The full season will include 85 late nights and 21 overnight stays in multiple cities across Europe.

At the end of June, Azamara Onward will cruise from Istanbul, later moving to Barcelona and then repositioning back to Monaco.

The entire season from May to November will feature a series of voyages ranging from seven- to 15-nights, where guests can uncover the mysteries of the Black Sea during a visit to Constanta or the Potemkin Stairs of Odessa.

In addition, she’ll sail a PerryGolf Mediterranean voyage and a new selection of land explorations, including an AzAmazing Journey in Greece and another in Cappadocia, along with voyages throughout Croatia, Italy, Istanbul, Spain and more.

Azamara Onward is the fourth cruise ship to join the Azamara fleet. She is identical to the other three, having started out life as a cruise ship for the now-defunct Renaissance Cruises in 1999.

She spent many years with Princess Cruises before joining Azamara Journey, Azamara Pursuit and Azamara Quest in the Azamara fleet.
