Viking Cruises’ 2021/22 World Cruise to call in Oman and Jordan during 136-day voyage

Viking Cruises has released the itinerary for its 136-day World Cruise aboard Viking Star, with plans to visit 57 ports in 22 countries across the Caribbean, the Americas, Australia, Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

The cruise will include 55 complimentary guided tours and overnight stays in 11 of the 57 ports visited.

Viking Cruises said that although the current coronavirus pandemic has caused widespread disruption and uncertainty, the World Cruise was a sign of the cruise line’s commitment to the future of cruising.

“For more than 20 years, we have been committed to providing our guests with immersive and culturally enriching experiences while traveling the world in comfort,” said Torstein Hagen, Chairman of Viking.

“This has been an unusual year for all travelers, but we remain focused on the future and are pleased to offer our guests a new destination-focused World Cruise that allows for extensive exploration in 2021-2022,” he added.

The World Cruise will set sail on December 24th, 2021, from Fort Lauderdale and will first head to Central America, transit through the Panama Canal, and cruise up the West Coast of North America before crossing the Pacific Ocean.

After calling in Hawaii, Viking Star will visit French Polynesia en route to New Zealand and Australia; and sail through Asia, the Middle East and the Mediterranean before concluding in London. In the Middle East she will call in Salalah, Oman and Aqaba, Jordan.

The World Cruise will include three new ports of call for Viking: Phillip Island, Eden, Australia, and Yangon, Myanmar.

Guests may also choose a shorter, 119-day portion of the cruise, the 2022 Viking World Horizons, which departs from Los Angeles on January 10th, 2022 and visits 22 countries and 49 ports before ending in London.

All Viking World Cruise guests will also receive the complimentary option to remain onboard for three additional days and disembark in the ship’s home port of Bergen, Norway.

Viking Star, launched in 2015, was the first cruise ship in Viking’s ocean-going fleet when it expanded out of river cruising. She was the first of a present-day fleet of six luxury sister ships, with another 10 on order.

Carrying 930 passengers and at just 47,842 tons, she is a mid-sized cruise ship but still features a wide range of guest facilities, including two pools, a spa and a fitness center, two restaurants, a piano lounge and explorers lounge, a wintergarden, an aquavit terrace and the world cafe.

There’s also a sports deck, the star theatre and bar, the lobby bar and various shops, while all staterooms feature private balconies.
