MSC Cruises 2022 World Cruise to include ports calls in Aqaba and Salalah

MSC Cruises has opened sales for its 2022 World Cruise aboard MSC Poesia, calling at 43 ports on five continents, including Aqaba in Jordan (the gateway to Petra) and the ancient port city of Salalah in Oman.

While sales are currently only open to MSC Voyagers Club members, wider sales for everyone else will become available on December 9th, the cruise line said.

The 117-day voyage will take guests to 24 countries, and will include nine overnight calls, with four embarkation ports offered.

The cruise will depart roundtrip from Civitavecchia and Genoa in Italy, Barcelona, Spain and Marseille, France and will call at Lisbon and Funchal, Portugal, then offer guests the chance to explore the island of Cape Verde before heading to South America.

In Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Buenos Aires (Argentina) guest will enjoy overnight stays before sailing to Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego, Valparaiso (Chile) and Callao (Peru), where guests will get to explore Machu Picchu and the Amazon jungle.

MSC Poesia will then call in Arica (Chile), Hanga Roa (Easter Island), will stay overnight at Papeete (Tahiti), and then head to Aiutaki and Rarotonga in the Cook Islands and Bounty Bay Passage (Pitcairn Islands).

In Australia, guests aboard MSC Poesia can explore Auckland and Napier (New Zealand), the scenery of the Fiordland National Park and the Great Barrier Reef (Cairns, Australia), with an overnight in Sydney.

She’ll call in Darwin, then make her way to Lifou Island (New Caledonia), Port Vila (Vanuatu) and Alotau (Papua New Guinea), before making her way through Southeast Asia bound for the Indian Ocean.

MSC Poesia will visit Lombok Island (Indonesia), Singapore and Port Klang (Malaysia) as well as Colombo (Sri Lanka), before overnighting in Mumbai (India). She then calls in Salalah (Oman) and Aqaba (Jordan) before transiting the Suez Canal on the way back to Europe.

Some of the 15 shore excursions included in the cost of the cruise will take guests to the iconic Moai sculptures of Easter Island, to the ancient city of Petra in Jordan and the geothermal valley of Whakarewarewa in New Zealand.
