Princess Cruises unveils new virtual reality show 5-SKIES for Sky and Enchanted Princess

Princess Cruises has revealed details of a new production show – ‘5-SKIES’ – which will debut on-board the line’s newest ships, Sky Princess and Enchanted Princess.

Created exclusively for Princess Cruises, the show will transport guests into a virtual reality gaming world through a series of digital effects, acrobatics, elaborate sets and unique costumes.

The show follows main character ‘Gamer 1’, who attempts to complete a series of five increasingly difficult levels, meeting different personalities along the way, to reach Sky Princess.

“Our team of creators and collaborators have once again pushed the boundaries of theatrical entertainment design at sea and 5-SKIES will take our guests on a musical journey through a digital universe of spectacle, sight and sound,” said Denise Saviss, Vice President of Entertainment Experience, Princess Cruises.

“Our dedicated team is passionate about connecting new experiences to our guests and with the advance of technology and spectacular visual effects, 5-SKIES will surely wow our audiences,” she added.

5-SKIES will open on the 3,660-guest Sky Princess on November 15th, 2019 as it sails the Caribbean. The vessel will then head to Northern Europe and sail roundtrip from Copenhagen on several Russia and Scandinavia voyages between April and August.

“The addition of 5-SKIES to the entertainment line-up aboard Sky Princess and Enchanted Princess showcases our commitment to offering one-of-a-kind experiences to our guests,” said Tony Roberts, Vice President UK & Europe, Princess Cruises.

“With stunning visuals, special effects and spectacular choreography, the show will be brought to life by our team of talented singers and dancers and will further enhance the extensive entertainment offering which can only be found on Princess.”

Sky Princess and Enchanted Princess, however, will feature a number of new amenities and attractions, such as the Sky Suites with the largest balconies in the fleet, the digital escape room Phantom Bridge, and the new Jazz lounge concept Take Five.

They will also offer more than 25 dining venues and bars including the World Fresh Marketplace and speciality restaurants La Mer (French bistro), Crown Grill Steakhouse and Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria.
