Carnival Panorama passes sea trials ‘with flying colours’

Carnival Panorama, Carnival Cruise Line’s newest cruise ship and the latest in the Vista-class, has completed her sea trials in the Adriatic and is on track for her December 11th, 2019 debut in Long Beach, California.

Carnival Panorama will be the cruise line’s first new ship on the West Coast in 20 years as it seeks to create additional ports of entry for the US home market ahead of an anticipated 5.4-million additional North American cruise passengers between now and 2027.

Currently in the final stages of construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy, Carnival Panorama had a full contingent of officers, technicians and engineers on board who thoroughly tested the ship’s  sophisticated technical, mechanical and navigation systems.

“Carnival Panorama is a wonderful addition to the fleet and she passed all of her manoeuvres and tests with flying colours. We can’t wait to welcome guests aboard this beautiful ship,” said Carnival Panorama’s Captain, Carlo Queirolo.

As the newest ship in the fleet, Carnival Panorama will offer innovations such as the first Sky Zone trampoline park at sea and a new ChooseFun WaterWorks aqua park inspired by the line’s Chief Fun Officer, NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal.

She will also feature Carnival’s popular on-board venues like Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse Brewhouse, featuring BBQ favourites created by Food Network star and long-time partner Guy Fieri and craft beers brewed on board.

On December 11th, Carnival Panorama will cruise from Long Beach, Los Angeles on a three-night shakedown cruise to Ensenada, Mexico.

She’ll then begin her year-round 7-night cruise program from LA on December 14th, with each cruise visiting seaside resort towns including Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlán.
