Riviera emerges from Oceania Cruises’ OceaniaNext refurbishment

After several weeks in dry-dock, Riviera has emerged from a major refurbishment as part of the OceaniaNext fleetwide enhancement program.

The 1,250-passenger ship, the newest in the Oceania Cruises fleet, now features a redesigned coffee bar, upgraded staterooms and common areas and a new special six-course Dom Perignon tasting menu.

“With the evolution of OceaniaNext, this was a great opportunity to not just enhance the guest experience aboard Riviera, but to elevate it through the addition of surprising new elements,” said Bob Binder, President and CEO of Oceania Cruises.

Riviera was the first of the line’s new Oceania-class cruise ships to undergo the OceaniaNext refit. Her sister ship Marina will receive a similar makeover in May 2020. The fleetwide refurbishment project includes a total overhaul of all four of the line’s smaller Regatta-class ships at a cost of US $100-million.

Riviera’s all-new coffee bar area on Deck 14 features a high-level Victoria Arduino espresso machine, and Bar Istas lounge with both designed in a silver-grey and sea green color palette with gold, ebony and white marble accents.

The ship’s Concierge and Veranda staterooms and Penthouse suites meanwhile have been redone in a espresso, caramel and ivory décor, while the Owner’s Suites are now furnished exclusively with the Ralph Lauren Home Collection.

Highlights here include a self-playing ebony piano, floor-to-ceiling windows, a mahogany and quartzite bar and wraparound teak verandas.

Oceania’s Insignia was the first Regatta-class ship to receive a complete OceaniaNext makeover.

The project is intended to create a uniform style and level of luxury throughout fleet, creating a more modern and chic onboard atmosphere than the country-house décor for which the line was previously known.
