“As such, hotels across the world are introducing unique menu options to enhance the guest experience in new and exciting ways. We’re celebrating some of the more unusual additions, all of which can be experienced by travelling from the UAE with dnata Travel.”
Sunbathe in style
From ‘life-sized’ unicorns to ice-cream cones, inflatables designed for stylish sunbathing have become a staple on our social media feeds as more people travel. In partnership with Australian lifestyle brand Sunnylife, the luxury Coco Bodu Hithi resort in the Maldives now offers its guests a choice of colourful inflatables with its ‘Pool Floats’ menu.
At the launch of the new venture, Martin Lount, General Manager at Coco Bodu Hithi, commented: “We’re excited to offer this one-of-a-kind menu experience. Our guests love to share pictures of their holiday on social media, and with over 12 different styles on offer from our pool floats menu, we look forward to see what they’ll be posting online!”
Make an entrance like an action movie star
The Six Senses Hideaway at Zighy Bay in Musandam, Oman is not only a luxurious retreat hidden away behind mountains but an adventure-seekers’ paradise. The extensive ‘experiences’ menu on offer at the hotel includes everything from mountain biking to scuba diving. Guests even have the option to make their arrival at the resort in three different ways: by 4×4, speedboat or paragliding from a nearby cliff.
Create your own pop-up rock studio
Live like a rock ‘n’ roll star at Hard Rock Hotels. Based in some of the world’s most popular holiday destinations from Bali to Florida, Hard Rock’s worldwide portfolio provides its guests the opportunity to access a menu of twenty Fender electric guitars (including the legendary Stratocaster played by the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton) as part of its “Sound of Your Stay” music amenities room service.
Included in the room price, guests also have access to headphones, amps, and even video guitar lessons to provide the ultimate pop-up rock studio, right in their hotel room, just make sure you take your favourite guitar with you, for us it would be the Jasmine JO-36 guitar.
Sleep on anti-ageing pillows
Many hotels now offer pillow menus to help guests feel more at home, you need only ask. The aptly-named Montcalm Marble Arch in London not only boasts one of the city’s top locations (close to shopping haven Oxford Street), but also offers its guests one of the world’s most luxurious pillow menus.
Choose from a range of options including the ‘Anti-Ageing Pillow’ which is “treated with Vitamin E”, and the ‘Shape Your Sleep Pillow’ which “moulds itself around you”, for the perfect night’s sleep.
Pamper your pet with room service
Hotels across the world are now offering specialist menus dedicated to our furry friends. The Pets are Welcome (PAW) programme at W Hotels includes a welcome pack with toys and treats, and a list of available pet services.
One property really taking the biscuit, is Hotel deLuxe in downtown Portland, Oregon, USA. Its entire third floor is dedicated to pets, offering pet spa treatments including acupuncture and massages, whilst room service menus include everything from gourmet pet food, to pet psychology books. As a bonus, whilst your pet has a massage, for your own health and wellbeing, the Fit+Well programme available at the hotel provides access to over 300 workouts preloaded on an iPad and delivered straight to your room with fitness equipment including a yoga mat and weights.
With Emirates recently introducing the ‘Emirates Pets’ service to its worldwide network, it’s easier than ever to travel with your pets from the UAE.
Become the king of the castle
The epitome of a fantasy castle setting with towers and turrets, manicured grounds, and sitting on the edge of a lake, Ashford Castle in Ireland is a beautiful property with a menu of activities fit for a king. Try anything from falconry with a ‘Hawk Walk’, clay shooting, horse riding, archery and so much more in the place “where fairytales are made”.
Now visa free for UAE Nationals, Ireland is easier to explore than ever, and dnata Travel has been working with Tourism Ireland on a host of tour packages, including an appropriately themed ‘Live Like a Lord’ self-drive tour.
