Dubai Marina is giving Business Bay a run for its money as one of the top ‘coolest’ neighbourhoods in Dubai. The waterfront development is now home to the world’s longest urban zipline.
Operated by XDubai, the XLine in Dubai Marina runs from the top of Amwaj towers in JBR (170m in the air), across the marina to the Dubai Marina Mall 1-kilometre away.

XDubai claims the zipline is also the steepest and fastest in the world, with riders reaching up to 80kph (50mph) during the ride.
There are two concurrent ziplines so cruise passengers visiting Dubai Marina can ride the zipline together (prices are AED650 per person, or AED 1,200 for a dual-ride).
The ziplines feature a superman-style harness, so you ride horizontal, facing the ground as though flying.
Those worried about whether it is safe can take comfort in the fact that the Crown Prince of Dubai has already tested it out.
XLine is open for a limited time, with a representative from XDubai telling Cruise Arabia & Africa that bookings are for December and January only.
During that time, five cruise ships will visit Dubai on 45 different Arabian Gulf cruise itineraries, carrying upwards of 80,000 cruise passengers, so book now or you’ll miss out!
Dubai Marina is located adjacent to Palm Jumeirah, home to the iconic Atlantis, The Palm hotel. It is approximately 25 minutes from Dubai Cruise Terminal by taxi.
The ride is expected to be hugely popular with tourists during the booming winter period in the city.
“Following the success of the first XLine, we wanted to step it up more than a notch and importantly, give both residents and visitors to Dubai the opportunity to have a true-to-form XDubai experience,” says Mohammed Javad, general manager of XDubai.
“The result is like nothing else – two ziplines – the world’s longest in an urban setting, in one of the world’s most vibrant neighbourhoods. We wouldn’t be XDubai if we didn’t push the limits of what is possible.”
