German cruise line Phoenix Reisen announce double billing for Dubai cruise market in 2019

Phoenix Reisen the leading luxury German cruise line are offering two cruises from Dubai in the 2019 cruise season, with two of its ships departing on two very different itineraries.

The first cruise, departing January 11th, 2019, will see the 580-passenger, 193m cruise liner Amadea cruising from Dubai to the Far East on 21-night voyage visiting India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia and the reclusive regime of Myanmar.

Middle East cruise destination on this itinerary include Muscat, with the focus on South Asia. Amadea will make port calls in three India cities and two Sri Lankan cities. Mormugao, Mangalore, Cochin and Hambantota and Trincomalee are all on the itinerary.

After departing Sri Lanka she’ll spend three night at sea before arriving in Yangon, known as Rangoon when Myanmar was Burma. This former capital remains the economic and cultural heart of one of the world’s most oppressive regimes, which is very slowly inching toward democracy.

After Myanmar, Amadea visits Phuket, the beating heart of Thailand’s tourism scene, before making a port call in Penang, Malaysia. She’ll also stop in Malaysia’s ancient city of Malacca, the oldest settlement in the country, dating back to 1396 when it was founded by Parameswara, the last king of Singapura.

After Malacca, Amadea will finish the cruise in Singapore, the island city-state named after the ancient kingdom of Singapura.

Phoenix Reisen’s second Dubai cruise departure scheduled in 2019 will be aboard Albatros, heading west for Genoa, Italy, the first of the ancient ‘maritime empires’ alongside Venice in the Middle Ages. On a side note, Genoa is also responsible for the invention of what we now know as ‘denim’ used in the manufacture of Jeans.

This 22-night cruise will visit Abu Dhabi, Sir Bani Yas, Mina Sulman in Bahrain, Muscat and Salalah in Oman and Safaga in Egypt before calling at Eilat in Israel and Aqaba in Jordan. She’ll also visit Sharm El Sheikh before entering the Mediterranean and visiting La Valletta, Malta, one of the smallest countries in the world.
