New Southern Africa river cruises to be launched by CroisiEurope

River cruise specialist CroisiEurope will open for sale its new Southern African river cruise program in December.

The all-inclusive nine-day safari cruises will be on a new ship, the RV African Dream, with a maximum capacity of 32 passengers.

The cruises will traverse the Chobe and Zambezi rivers followed by a stay at a luxury lodge and will end with a visit to Victoria Falls.

The cruise will also include mini safaris in jeeps and smaller boats, led by expert local guides. The lodge, which has been bought and completely renovated by the cruise line, is on Impalia Island in Namibia.

RV African Dream features French balconies, large terraces, a lounge bar and panoramic restaurant for 32 guests.

Four of the nine days of each trip will be spent on the RV African Dream itself, which has eight suites, six with French balconies and two with larger terraces. The ship also features a lounge bar, panoramic restaurant, small pool and a rooftop terrace.

Unlike most CroisiEurope cruises, where there is no choice at mealtimes, there will be a choice of three options, according to a statement from the company.

Prices start at a truly staggering £3,900 (R73,000!) per person, including internal flights and transfers but not including international flights.

Customers can also add on a three-day pre-cruise programme in Cape Town, with a visit to Robben Island, a wine estate and the Cape of Good Hope.

A second ship, RV African Dream II, is due to be launched at the end of 2018. It will operate a cruise only itinerary, which will hopefully be cheaper!
