Quantum of the Seas will visit Dubai on her way to Shanghai

Royal Caribbean International have announced that Quantum of the Seas’ will cruise from Dubai on her re-positioning cruise from New York to Shanghai, where she will sail her inaugural Asian season.

Royal Caribbean’s newest cruise liner promises a never-before-seen-at-sea cruise experience, with on board attractions that include a North Star glass ball that will swing passengers out over the side of the ship for spectacular sea views.

The cruise ship, which is the first in a new Quantum-class of cruise ships for the world’s second-largest cruise line, will spend nearly two months cruising to Asia from North America. Passengers can elect to book the entire 53-night Global Odyssey, or cruise on the ship on five segments ranging from 3 to 16-nights.

Celebrations are reportedly being arranged at major ports of call along the way to mark history in the making as one of the world’s most advanced cruise ships visits regions such as the Mediterranean, Middle East and Indian Ocean for the first time.

When Quantum wraps up her winter season in New York from November 2014 to April 2015, she will depart on May 2nd, 2015 from Cape Liberty on a trans-Atlantic cruise to Barcelona, stopping at Ponta Delgada, Azores; and Cartagena and Palma De Mallorca along the way.

She will then depart on a 16-night Barcelona to Dubai cruise via the Suez Canal with calls at Rome (Civitavecchia) and Naples/Capri, Italy; Athens (Piraeus), Greece; and Aqaba, Jordan. A 14-night Dubai to Singapore India & Southeast Asia itinerary, departing May 29th, featuring overnights in Dubai, Cochin, and Singapore, as well as calls at Muscat, and Penang will then follow.

Her Asian cruises en-route to Shanghai, China include a 3-night Short Malaysia itinerary, departing roundtrip from Singapore on June 12th, calling at Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang), and a 9-night Exotic Asia itinerary that departs June 15th from Singapore to Shanghai (Baoshan), China, with calls at Ho Chi Minh City (Phu My), Xiamen and an overnight in Hong Kong.
