Celestyal completes disembarkation from Discovery in Dubai, Journey remains in Doha

Celestyal Cruises has confirmed that passengers travelling aboard Celestyal Discovery have now left the vessel in Dubai after sailings in the Arabian Gulf were suspended amid the current regional situation.

The company said guests disembarked safely from the ship while onboard teams assisted with onward travel arrangements, including transfers and accommodation where required.

“All guests have now safely disembarked Celestyal Discovery, currently in Dubai, UAE, with onboard teams supporting onward transfers and accommodation arrangements where required,” said a spokesperson for Celestyal Cruises.

The ship had remained docked in Dubai following the cancellation of sailings in the region earlier this week. Guests were kept onboard while cruise line staff coordinated travel arrangements and worked with local authorities and airline partners.

Celestyal indicated that it continues to monitor developments in the region and remains in contact with relevant authorities as part of its operational planning.

“We continue to follow developments in the Middle East and remain in regular contact with the relevant authorities,” said the spokesperson.

“Throughout this period, our focus has been and continues to be the safety and wellbeing of our guests and crew,” the company added.

Attention has now shifted to Celestyal Journey, which remains alongside in Doha, Qatar. Passengers currently travelling aboard that vessel will be informed of disembarkation arrangements once plans are finalised.

“Remaining guests currently onboard Celestyal Journey in Doha, Qatar, will be advised of disembarkation plans in due course,” the spokesperson said.

Passengers have also been encouraged to liaise directly with airlines regarding travel arrangements and to register with their national embassies for official updates or support relating to return travel.

“All guests have been advised to contact their airlines directly regarding flight arrangements and to register with their respective embassies for any official updates or repatriation support,” the spokesperson added.

Celestyal confirmed it is maintaining contact with embassies and foreign offices while monitoring any guidance or assistance available for passengers travelling onward from the region.

“We remain in contact with embassies and foreign offices to stay informed of any guidance or assistance being provided for onward travel arrangements,” said the company.

The developments follow the early conclusion of Celestyal’s winter Arabian Gulf programme, which normally runs during the cooler months and links ports in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and neighbouring destinations. Several cruise lines operating seasonal deployments in the region have made similar adjustments in recent days while working with authorities and airline partners to coordinate passenger travel.
