Royal Caribbean to expand casino, relocate Crown Lounge aboard Wonder of the Seas

Royal Caribbean International has announced a series of upgrades to its Oasis-class vessel Wonder of the Seas, enhancing onboard entertainment and guest amenities ahead of her repositioning to Miami.

Central to the changes is the expansion of the ship’s casino, which will soon occupy a larger space on Deck 4 following the relocation of the Crown Lounge from its current Deck 4 location to a new area on Deck 16.

The move is designed to improve access for Crown & Anchor Society members while freeing up space to expand the ship’s casino operations.

According to the cruise line, the upgraded casino will offer a more dynamic experience for guests, while the new lounge location will provide improved views and a more exclusive setting for loyalty programme members.

The refit and refurbishment is scheduled to take place from June 22nd to 28th, with the ship continuing to operate its roundtrip Caribbean schedule. During the work, the Crown Lounge will be closed, reopening in its new location on June 29th.

To ensure continued access to loyalty benefits during the relocation, Royal Caribbean has confirmed that eligible guests can redeem cocktail hour drinks at any bar or lounge throughout the ship. In addition, Diamond and Diamond Plus members will receive extra cappuccino credits valid at Café Promenade.

Social100, the dedicated teen club aboard Wonder of the Seas, will also be closed during the same period and is expected to resume operations on June 29^th, featuring a range of minor upgrades such as new soft furnishings.

In a further enhancement to the ship’s entertainment offering, the Golden Room—a non-smoking section of the casino—will be temporarily closed for renovation from June 22nd. It is slated to reopen on July 13th with a larger footprint, catering specifically to guests who prefer smoke-free gaming environments.

The updates are part of Royal Caribbean’s broader strategy to continually evolve its onboard offerings.

Wonder of the Seas, launched in 2022 and currently sailing seven-night Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral, Florida, remains one of the most advanced ships in the fleet, the fifth in Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class.

With its expanded casino and modernised lounge facilities, the vessel is being positioned to meet growing guest demand for tailored, high-quality cruise experiences ahead of her move to Miami, from which she will sail short, roundtrip Caribbean cruises.

Starting in August 2025, Star of the Seas will take over the current cruise schedules for Wonder of the Seas out of Port Canaveral.
