Holland America Line has opened bookings for its two Grand Voyages departing in January 2027, one of which features an extended port call in Cape Town, South Africa, following strong interest during the pre-sale period.
The 2027 Grand World Voyage aboard Volendam and the 2027 Grand South America & Antarctica Voyage aboard Zaandam will feature extended and overnight calls in key destinations, overland tour options, and routes designed to provide in-depth regional exploration.
“We know cruisers who book Grand Voyages are looking for unique experiences — and the strong interest we’ve seen in the pre-sale period shows us our guests are excited about what we’ve designed for them in 2027,” said Paul Grigsby, Vice President of Deployment and Revenue Planning for Holland America Line.
“For example, we built in overnight stays in destinations like Bordeaux — with the city centre only accessible via smaller ships like Volendam — as well as multi-night stays in vibrant cities like Cape Town and Buenos Aires,” he added.
Volendam’s 129-day Grand World Voyage, departing Fort Lauderdale on January 5th, 2027, includes seven overnight or multi-night calls. The itinerary features extended time in Copenhagen, Bordeaux, Cape Town, Bali, Sydney, Papeete, and Callao (Lima).
The ship sails from South America across the South Pacific to Australia and Southeast Asia, rounds the Cape of Good Hope, then sails north along the west coast of Africa before continuing into Europe and back across the Atlantic.
Zaandam’s 70-day Grand South America & Antarctica Voyage, departing Fort Lauderdale on January 3rd, 2027, also includes five overnight or multi-night stays. Ports include Callao (Lima), Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, and Fuerte Amador (Panama City).
The voyage features a full transit of the Panama Canal, scenic cruising through the Chilean fjords and glaciers, a four-day Antarctic experience, and visits to remote locations such as Isla Robinson Crusoe and the Falkland Islands.
Both voyages offer optional multi-day overland tours for passengers seeking more immersive exploration. On the Grand World Voyage, one highlight is a seven-day tour from Phuket to India, culminating in a visit to the Taj Mahal before rejoining the ship in Malé, Maldives.
A four-day Galapagos Islands overland tour is available to guests on both itineraries, offering opportunities to view local wildlife such as giant tortoises, blue-footed boobies, marine iguanas, and frigatebirds, along with exploration of the region’s protected marine environment.
