Ambassador Cruise Line revamps entertainment aboard Ambience for 2025

Ambassador Cruise Line will expand its entertainment programme onboard Ambience with three new productions debuting from April 2025.

The additions include Ding Dong, a comedic play by French playwright Marc Camoletti; Global Explosion, a dance show inspired by international cultures; and Bard on Board, a Shakespeare-themed vignette that will form part of the Captain’s Cocktail Reception.

The new productions build on the ship’s existing entertainment offerings, which have included West End-style shows, guest speaker programmes, and interactive events since Ambience began service in April 2022.

The three new shows are:

Ding Dong: A farcical play set in Paris, Ding Dong follows the chaos that unfolds in the Marcellin household. Written by Marc Camoletti, the production adds a theatrical option focused on traditional comedic storytelling.

Global Explosion: A dance-led production showcasing a variety of styles from different regions, Global Explosion will take audiences from South American salsa and Moulin Rouge–style cabaret to paso doble routines and performances influenced by Nashville.

Bard on Board: A short Shakespeare-themed performance, Bard on Board will open the Captain’s Cocktail Reception on Ambassador Night, combining elements of classical theatre with cruise entertainment programming.

Ambassador Cruise Line’s entertainment team said the new shows are designed to diversify onboard offerings, providing a range of genres for guests.

Since launching, Ambience has targeted a specific market segment, focusing on traditional cruise experiences with a British orientation. Its entertainment strategy has included the introduction of guest entertainers, destination-focused lectures, craft workshops, and themed evenings, alongside staged productions.

The 2025 additions reflect an expansion of that strategy, introducing a broader mix of theatre, dance, and literary elements to the programme. By offering a scripted comedy, a globally themed dance show, and a Shakespeare performance, Ambassador is diversifying the types of performances available without departing from its traditional entertainment style.

Ambience, which launched in 2022 after refurbishment, typically operates no-fly cruises from Tilbury, offering itineraries to Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, and beyond. Entertainment is positioned as a core part of the onboard experience, often integrated with themed nights and guest speaker appearances tailored to specific voyages.

The new shows are scheduled to roll out progressively from April 2025, and will feature as part of Ambience’s wider seasonal entertainment schedule.
