Swan Hellenic has opened bookings for its 2026/27 Antarctic cruise season, offering 24 voyages aboard its expedition ships SH Vega and SH Diana, including a 20-night grand voyage from Cape Town.
The voyage will call at remote destinations including Saint Helena, Ascension Island, Tristan da Cunha, the South Sandwich Islands, and South Georgia.
The itinerary expands Swan Hellenic’s Antarctic programme by incorporating regions with rich ecological and historical significance.
The vessels, which accommodate 152 and 192 passengers respectively, will operate nine to 13-night round-trip itineraries from Ushuaia, Argentina, the cruise line’s homeport for Antarctic operations.
The upcoming season will feature a selection of themed sailings, including Christmas, New Year, and Lunar New Year of the Horse celebrations. Among these, SH Vega will combine Christmas and New Year into a single 13-night cruise, departing December 22nd, 2026.
The line has also introduced expert-led snowshoeing expeditions, an addition to its shore excursion programme. Designed for both beginners and experienced trekkers, the activity will offer passengers a new way to explore the Antarctic terrain.
“From deep exploration of the Weddell Sea, one of the most pristine intact ecosystems on earth, to our new snowshoeing expeditions, they offer brilliant opportunities to see what others don’t on life-changing voyages exploring the world’s last great wilderness,” said Patrizia Iantorno, Chief Commercial Officer, Swan Hellenic.
Swan Hellenic’s expedition cruises are designed for in-depth exploration of Antarctica’s landscapes and wildlife, with itineraries featuring zodiac excursions, expert lectures, and immersive shore landings.
The expansion of its offerings reflects the increasing demand for small-ship expedition travel, particularly in the polar regions, where controlled visitor numbers and strict environmental protocols shape the industry’s approach to sustainable tourism.
With growing interest in Antarctica as a cruise destination, the 2026/27 season highlights Swan Hellenic’s continued focus on providing remote, nature-focused voyages for travellers seeking in-depth exploration beyond traditional cruise routes.
Aboard SH Vega and SH Diana, passengers can expect a small-ship expedition experience with spacious staterooms, observation lounges, and expert-led lectures.
Both vessels feature Zodiac excursions, fine dining, a wellness area, and a Scandinavian-inspired design that emphasises comfort and panoramic views, ideal for exploring Antarctica’s remote landscapes and wildlife.
