Exclusive MSC Privé Lounge introduced at Durban’s cruise terminal for 2024/25 season

MSC Cruises will enhance the embarkation experience aboard its popular ship, MSC Musica, with the introduction of the MSC Privé Lounge at Durban’s Nelson Mandela Cruise Terminal this coming cruise season.

The new service, available during the upcoming 2024/25 cruise season, is designed to streamline the embarkation process and provide a more seamless start to the cruise for passengers boarding the ship.

The MSC Privé Lounge will simplify check-in procedures by offering priority service to its users, with a dedicated baggage drop-off area, expedited security screening, and priority at immigration.

Once these formalities are completed, guests can relax in the lounge with light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages while waiting to board. The service is expected to be a key feature for those seeking a more relaxed and efficient boarding process, particularly at one of South Africa’s busiest cruise ports.

MSC Musica remains a popular choice for South African holidaymakers, thanks to her variety of onboard amenities, and choice of destinations in the Indian Ocean. The ship will be sailing to Mozambique, Namibia, and Mauritius, with departures scheduled throughout the 2024 season.

Popular port calls include Portuguese Island in Mozambique, known for its pristine beaches, and the scenic ports of Walvis Bay and La Possession.

In addition to the new MSC Privé Lounge, MSC Musica offers a wide range of onboard experiences. Passengers can choose from a variety of dining options, including local South African favourites and international cuisine.

MSC Musica will homeport at the new Nelson Mandela Cruise Terminal in Durban

The ship features several entertainment venues, including the Teatro La Scala theatre, a casino, a disco, and numerous bars and lounges. There are also activities tailored for younger travelers, with dedicated clubs for children and teenagers.

MSC Cruises has also invested in technology to enhance the onboard experience, with the MSC For Me app now allowing guests to manage their time onboard by tracking activities, events, and restaurant reservations. The ship is now also connected to the Starlink satellite network, which provides faster internet speeds, enabling passengers to stay in touch with family and friends during their cruise.

For those looking to extend their vacation, MSC Cruises offers Fly&Cruise packages that bundle flights and transfers with the cruise. Stay&Cruise options are also available for guests who wish to spend additional time in their destination, either before or after their cruise.

MSC Musica will spend the majority of her cruise season homeporting in Durban, sailing roundtrip cruises of 2, 3, 4 and 5 nights in the Indian Ocean, but will also offer a selection of cruises out of Cape Town, visiting Walvis Bay in Namibia and South Africa’s seaside town of Mossel Bay.
