Utopia of the Seas, the latest Oasis-class cruise ship from Royal Caribbean International, has arrived in Port Canaveral to begin her debut homeporting Caribbean season.
Offering short getaways year-round from Florida, Utopia of the Seas will on July 19th sail her maiden passenger voyage, a 3-night roundtrip cruise to Coco Cay and Nassau in the Bahamas.
Utopia of the Seas, a sister ship to class-leader Oasis of the Seas, is the sixth ship in the Oasis class, and like later vessels in the group, such as Symphony and Wonder of the Seas, she features a range of enhancements across her 40 dining and bar venues, two casinos, four pools and more.
The convenient Izumi in the Park pickup window makes its Oasis Class debut, with sushi, Japanese-inspired street food and more. Next door is the staple Izumi restaurant in its new Central Park location, with a private omakase multicourse experience, guided by the chef; double the teppanyaki tables and al fresco seating.
Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar – The Italian eatery is now in a new location, spanning two stories, and debuts the first-ever Gio’s Terrazza. The al fresco location overlooks the lively Boardwalk, one of the eight neighbourhoods onboard, the others being Royal Promenade, Central Park, Entertainment Zone, Pools & Sports Zone, Youth Zone, Vitality Spa & Fitness, and the Suite Neighborhood.
The ship boasts three Perfect Storm water slides in her waterpark, as well as the longest dry slide at sea – The Ultimate Abyss, carrying guests down 11 decks from the pool deck to the promenade. On the pool deck, there are multiple dining options, including Spare Tire – the new poolside food truck.
Tucked away is the adults-only Solarium pool and the exclusive Suite Sun Deck, both tranquil escapes to chill.
The ship also debuts a new Caribbean tiki bar – The Pesky Parrot – and Royal Railway-Utopia Station, a first-of-its-kind immersive train car dining experience. On every Caribbean voyage there will also be show-stopping entertainment across air, ice, water and stage; and more at Perfect Day at CocoCay.
In addition to the cruise ship staples like the gym, salon, spa, rock climbing and mini golf, Utopia of the Seas also offers ice-skating, a zip line across her iconic twin superstructures, and kids clubs for passengers of all ages, from babies and toddlers to tweens and teens.
Entertainment includes the Royal Theatre, Aquatheatre, Studio B ice skating shows, Spotlight karaoke, and a Music Hall featuring a range of live music genres. There’s also the Boleros nightclub, Carousel lounge, The Attic comedy club, outdoor movie screenings and an onboard escape room.
