Disney Dream
Disney Dream is set to recieve a plethora of updates and new public spaces and amenities during a major refit in late 2024, according to the Disney Parks Blog.
Disney Dream will spend her summer season in Europe and then go into dry dock for a range of enhancements as part of her first major modernisation project.
The 13-year-old ship will be brought up to the same standard as newer ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, particularly Disney Wish, which introduced a range of new experiences and amenities.
Some of the highlights of the refit include an updated Oceaneer Club and a brand-new funnel suite, as well as a new concierge lounge and revamped spa.
Revamped Youth Spaces
The Oceaneer Club will get a Marvel WEB Workshop where “young recruits” will be able to test new suit prototypes for Spider-Man and other heroes and conduct training simulations using WEB technology. Avenger mentors will also drop by the workshop to check in on their progress.
The Edge club for guests aged 11-14 will move to Deck 5 and debut exciting new features, including access to an outdoor deck with a ball pit and recreational games. The new space will also include a club lounge and dance floor.
New funnel suite
Bringing Disney Dream on-par with Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, the forward funnel of the ship will be transformed into the Dream Tower Suite, themed to the classic Walt Disney Animation Studios film, “Fantasia,” and its “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” sequence.
Full of gilded features that reflect the Disney Dream’s art deco motif, the suite will immerse guests in Sorcerer Mickey’s magic, including celestial-inspired surroundings, carpet design inspired by flowing water, and a chandelier reminiscent of his famous control of the waves.
Concierge guests will enjoy an expanded Concierge Lounge, an all-new space inspired by the Disney Animation film, “Hercules,” and Mount Olympus, with light, airy details and rich colors inspired by the clouds of Mount Olympus, with hints of bright gold evoking the gates to the kingdom of the gods.
Revamped spa and dining
Disney Dream’s spa will have a refreshed check-in area and will be expanded to include new treatment rooms.
A guest favourite cantina aboard Disney’s newer ships will join the quick service dining options on Deck 11, offering tacos, burritos and bowls.
Disney Dream will debut the new enhancements in late 2024, when she arrives in Fort Lauderdale to sail a range of roundtrip Caribbean itineraries, featuring calls to Nassau in the Bahamas, as well as Disney’s private island destination Castaway Cay.
