AIDAdiva to lead AIDA Evolution fleetwide refit and refurbishment programme in 2025

AIDA Cruises’ Sphinx-class cruise ship AIDAdiva will be redesigned and enhanced during a seven-week drydock next year as part of the fleetwide AIDA Evolution refit programme. 

AIDAdiva will be the first in the AIDA fleet to be modernised as part of the AIDA Evolution project, which is the largest fleet modernisation programme in the cruise line’s history.

The refit and refurbishment work will take place at Chantier Naval de Marseille in France from February 3rd to March 22nd, 2025, and will include new interiors, new onboard experiences, and new technical and mechanical systems ahead of the ship’s 2025 World Cruise.

New interiors 

Extensive modernisation work will be carried out in the guest areas of the ship, with all staterooms due to be redecorated. A number of new suites will also be added, and several popular concepts from the latest generation of AIDA ships will be incorporated into the onboard experience.

Guests can look forward to an even greater variety of restaurants and more service offers, with popular signature restaurants, bars and cafes from the fleet’s Excell-class added. 

The distinctive Theatrium will be refurbished with inviting seating and a harmonious colour concept, and new activity areas will be introduced for families and young passengers.

“The ships of the Sphinx series made cruise history with their innovative space concept and design. We want to build on that with our AIDA Evolution program. Our guests can look forward to an even greater variety of experiences, service and comfort on board,” he added.

Ships in the Sphinx series were commissioned between 2007 and 2013. Following AIDAdiva, the modernisation of AIDAluna and AIDAbella will take place in the autumn of 2025 and in the spring of 2026, respectively. 

Summer 2025 World Cruise

Following her refit and refurbishment, AIDAdiva will sail three itineraries from Rome/Civitavecchia, Italy to Malta from March 23rd, 2025. 

Destinations on these itineraries include Valletta, Siracusa or Catania, Palermo, Naples and Olbia. AIDAdiva will then head to its summer home port of Warnemünde, Germany from where it will sail to destinations in the Baltic Sea region and Norway. 

AIDAdiva’s first world cruise will be the longest – and include more ports – than any previous AIDA world cruise. The 128-day voyage, will depart Hamburg on November 10th, visiting 53 ports in 28 countries on four continents.
