Princess Cruises unveils ship-within-a-ship luxury enclave concept aboard new vessels

Princess Cruises has introduced its new ship-within-a-ship luxury enclave concept, Sanctuary, which will debut aboard Sun Princess and will be available aboard the upcoming Sun Princess and Star Princess when they are introduced in 2024 and 2025.

The next-level Sanctuary Collection aboard Sun Princess and Star Princess will offer guests an all-inclusive oasis with exclusive access to the ship’s top deck retreat area, along with a host of additional and high-end amenities designed to enhance their voyage.

The new Sanctuary Collection makes Princess Cruises the newest cruise line to feature a luxury enclave, mirroring the Yacht Club aboard MSC Cruises, the Haven aboard Norwegian Cruise Line, and the new Loft 19 from Carnival that debuted aboard Mardi Gras.

Star Princess

“Our new Sanctuary Collection offers guests those ultra-private, tucked away spaces that rival any high-end resort and surpasses the offerings of comparable cruise lines featuring similar ship-within-a-ship amenities,” said John Padgett, President, Princess Cruises.

“With spacious and well-appointed accommodations, along with an array of premium extras and its exclusivity, our new Sanctuary Collection delivers the ultimate in access and indulgence to deliver an unparalleled experience,” he added.

Guests staying in the Sanctuary Collection will enjoy exclusive access to the ship’s top-deck retreat area and high-end amenities, such as private dining and relaxation areas and the Princess Premier bundle.

The Sanctuary

The top-deck, adults-only Sanctuary Club aboard Sun Princess is now reserved exclusively for Sanctuary Collection guests who access the private entry via their Princess Medallion. The club features lounge furniture, private cabanas, a pool and jacuzzi, refreshing beverages, as well as tailored events such as sunrise yoga classes and sail-away receptions.

Other Sanctuary Collection amenities include priority specialty restaurant reservations and premium stateroom amenities, with three different stateroom types within the enclave: Signature Collection Suites, Mini Suites and Premium Deluxe Balconies.

Princess Premier offerings include:

Premier Beverage Package (covering drinks up to $20, champagne by the glass, specialty coffees, smoothies and bottled water, as well as 25 percent off bottles of wine)

Unlimited MedallionNet 2.0 with Fleetwide Starlink and 5G for up to 4 devices

Daily crew appreciation (e.g., gratuities)

Two nights of specialty dining

Unlimited prix fixe meals at any casual dining location

Sanctuary Collection staterooms on the Sun Princess and Star Princess open for sale on April 23rd, and guests who reserve Sanctuary Collection staterooms on either ship will enjoy extra amenities at no additional cost, excluding the premier bundle.

Sun Princess and Star Princess are sister ships and the largest vessels ever built for Princess Cruises. Designed to an entirely new platform, the new class of ships carry more than 4,300 passengers and will offer a range of new-to-the-line experiences and amenities, as well as enhanced guest favourites.

The Dome relaxation and entertainment space aboard Sun Princess

The ship’s also feature one of the most dramatic designs of any other vessel in the fleet, with eye-catching architectural elements including The Dome, a groundbreaking geodesic, glass-enclosed structure at the top of the ship inspired by the terraces of Santorini.

The outward and suspended Sphere, the namesake of this new class of ship, takes the central Piazza hub of the ship into a new dimension, offering expansive ocean views and an open concept providing an even greater sense of space indoors.

The vessels also feature Princess Arena, the most technologically-advanced theatre in the Princess fleet, and a new dedicated show lounge, Spellbound by Magic Castle, along with 30 restaurant and bar venues with an unprecedented collection of celebrity collaborators, high-end ingredients and culinary experiences.

Highlights include Love by Britto, an artistic-inspired dining experience celebrating love, in partnership with Romero Britto; The Butcher’s Block by Dario, in partnership with the world’s most famous butcher, Dario Cecchini; Makoto Ocean, in partnership with Master of Edomae-style sushi Makoto Okuwa; and Umai Teppanyaki, where world-class cuisine intertwines with captivating performances.
