Disney Cruise Line has announced the name of its seventh cruise ship as Disney Adventure, with the former Global Dream due to commence cruising in Asia in 2025.
The cruise line purchased the still-under-construction Global Dream in 2022 when Genting Hong Kong collapsed due to disruption caused to the industry by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The vessel remains under construction at MV Werften in Germany, but is now being designed to Disney Cruise Line standards, although the attractions and amenities to be found onboard have yet to be announced.

At 208,000 gross tons Global Dream was intended to be the largest cruise ship ever built for the Asian cruise market. Carrying more than 6,000 passengers, the vessel is in a similar size class to Royal Caribbean’s Oasis-class vessels and will be the largest cruise ship in the Disney fleet.
Aboard the new Wish class vessels Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, the cruise line has introduced the first at-sea Disney theme park style rides, AquaMouse.
With Disney Adventure measuring in at around 50% larger than both vessels, it’s likely that she will feature a similar theme park style attraction, potentially even two.

It’s apparent that Disney Cruise Line has revamped the ship’s design to dedicate more decks to public spaces, as Dream Cruises had intended for the ship to carry at least 9,000 passengers, while Disney has revised that number down to 6,000.
Disney Cruise Line has confirmed that after repositioning to Asia, Disney Adventure will start its cruise program out of Singapore’s Marina Bay facility.
It’s unclear at this stage whether Disney Adventure will sail a revenue-generating passenger voyage from Europe to Asia, but if she does, there’s a high likelihood of her making at least one or two port calls in the Middle East along the way, potentially even in Dubai, the primary cruise port in the region.
Disney Adventure joins Disney Treasure, debuting in 2024, and a yet-to-be-named newbuild, also debuting in 2025 and a sister to the Disney Treasure and Disney Wish.
This will bring the total number of Disney cruise ships in the fleet to eight by the end of 2025.
