MSC Cruises opens sales for World America, announces tweaks for US market

MSC Cruises has opened sales for the new 5,400-guest MSC World America, which is set to debut in North America sailing from Miami in April 2025.

The cruise line also announced that the new ship, the second in its mammoth World class and a sister ship to MSC World Europa, will be modified for the North American market, where she will homeport year-round.

MSC World America will be optimised for US cruising with new restaurants, bars, public spaces and experiences, with the inaugural itineraries on offer featuring 7-night Caribbean itineraries that include MSC’s private island Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.

MSC Cruises in a statement said the ship’s design could be described as “elegant European design meets American comfort”, with new venues set to include a sports bar, comedy club, and The Harbor on deck 20, specially designed for kids and families.

The Harbor features an aquapark, interactive water features, areas to relax with delicious bites and cool beverages, as well as sweeping ocean views. There’s also a High Trail course, zip line, and a thematic playground for kids called Harbor Lighthouse.

This area will be served by a range of food trucks with five different dwelling spaces with plenty of shady and comfortable seating.

The ship will also introduce a new sports bar concept, featuring sporting nostalgia, technology, and entertainment in an environment where guests of all ages are welcome. There will also be games such as darts.

MSC World America will debut MSC Cruises’ first comedy club at sea, a space where guests can kick back, let loose, and take life a little less seriously, according to the line. Before each comedy set there’ll be an interactive dueling piano show.

“MSC World America will become the fourth of our new ships that we have deployed in the Caribbean for her inaugural season,” said Gianni Onorato, CEO, MSC Cruises. “This is not only part of our commitment to growth in the North American market but also to bring our newest and most innovative ships to the region for our international guests from around the world.”

“This exciting new ship will definitely deliver the ultimate cruise experience in the Caribbean when she comes into service,” he added.

MSC World America will sail from MSC Cruises’ brand new, state-of-the-art terminal at PortMiami from April 2025, which is set to be the largest cruise terminal in North America once completed.

The ship will feature Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries roundtrip from Miami. Eastern Caribbean itineraries will feature Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, The Bahamas

Western Caribbean cruises aboard MSC World America will feature Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; Roatan, Honduras; and Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, The Bahamas.

MSC World America is the second in MSC Cruises’ World class, a sister ship to MSC World Europa which debuted during the current cruise in the Middle East cruise market out of Dubai.
