New TUI cruise ship Mein Schiff 7 to introduce singles cabins and new dining options

TUI Cruises has revealed the first details of its next newbuild, Mein Schiff 7, including new dining options and the cruise line’s first singles cabins.

The 2,900-guest vessel is the seventh in a series of ships built for the company at the Meyer Turku shipyard, in Finland, and is due to enter service in 2024.

While she is currently known as Mein Schiff 7 under construction, the vessel will likely to christened as Mein Schiff 3, as she is a sister ship to the 2019-launched Mein Schiff 2.

The new ship will introduce a range of new features while also bringing back popular concepts found throughout the TUI fleet.

TUI has confirmed that the vessel will feature a 25-metre-long swimming pool like her sister ship, as well as a new set of singles cabins that will be available for a small additional charge.

New dining concepts include the Asia & Sushi Restaurant, which will be connected to the ship’s signature Diamant Bar, serving both warm Japanese dishes and sushi creations.

A new casino will also be introduced adjacent the Abtanz Bar. The smoke-free venue will serve as a gambling and dancing club, offering slot machines and game tables, as well as a dance floor and bar.

Other new features include the Bella Italia restaurant, the Kaffeehauskultur coffee bar and the Champagner Treff champagne bar.

The Champagne Bar will be located on an external area of Deck 6 and will feature a new design and ocean views, with a canopy to protect from adverse weather.

The 110,000-gross ton vessel will feature a range of technologies intended to make her operation more environmentally friendly. These ‘green technologies’ including a shore power connection system and highly efficient catalytic converters that will work alongside her engines configured for low-emission marine diesel.

The cruise line says the ship has also been designed for conversion to green methanol propulsion at a later date, which will make her almost CO2-neutral.

TUI Cruises is one of four major German cruise lines alongside AIDA Cruises, Phoenix Reisen and Hapag-Llloyd. The cruise line caters primarily to the German speaking market and annually homeports in Dubai for the winter cruise season.
