Carnival Cruise Line has announced double-developments for its newbuild sister ships to Mardi Gras, with sales now open for Carnival Jubilee, while Carnival Celebration has had her funnel installed.
Carnival Celebration is the second of the cruise line’s Excellence (or Excel) class cruise ships, and Carnival Jubilee is the third, both will be near-identical to the new Mardi Gras, which at 180,000-gross tons is the largest ship ever built for Carnival Cruise Line.
Carnival Celebration will be delivered later this year, while Carnival Jubilee is scheduled to debut out of the Port of Galveston in 2023.

Her Galveston itineraries are now open for booking during the 2023/24 winter cruise season, during which she’ll sail 7-night Western Caribbean itineraries calling in Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico, as well as Mahogany Bay (Isla Roatan), Honduras.
The first of these cruises departs November 18th, 2023, but Carnival Jubilee’s first passenger voyage will actually be her October 30th departure from Southampton on an 18-night trans-Atlantic cruise.
The ship will visit the Port of Vigo in Spain, Las Palmas and Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Funchal in Portugal and Grand Turk, before arriving in Galveston, Texas.

While Carnival Jubilee will feature all the same features that have made Mardi Gras so popular, such as the BOLT roller coaster, expanded dining options, more than 20 different stateroom categories, and a three-deck atrium with ocean views that converts into a nightclub, she’ll also debut some new-to-the-line features.
The ship will have six zones like her sisters, but two of them will be brand-new concepts to be revealed at a later date, along with other ‘just-for-Jubilee’ firsts, according to Carnival.

Carnival Cruise Line also announced this week that Carnival Celebration’s iconic winged funnel has been installed, signaling the beginning of the final stage of her exterior superstructure construction.
Work will now proceed on her Excellence-class outdoor features, such as the BOLT roller coaster, waterpark and water slides and other amenities.
Carnival Celebration is being built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland and is scheduled to enter service in November this year, sailing 7-night Caribbean itineraries from PortMiami. She’ll join Mardi Gras, which is also based in Florida, sailing from Port Canaveral.
Carrying 5,200 passengers, these ships are not only the largest in the Carnival fleet, but also the first in the fleet to run on LNG fuel. They also feature the first roller coasters at sea, Carnival’s first all-suite enclave, and a whole host of new-to-the-line dining options across their six onboard zones.
