MSC rolls out itineraries for US cruise resumption in summer, 2021

MSC Cruises will resume cruises from the United States with MSC Meraviglia and MSC Divina, sailing 3-, 4- and 7-night itineraries from Miami and Port Canaveral.

The resumption of US cruises is the latest step in MSC Cruises wider re-deployment, with the cruise line having already operated several dozen cruises safely in the Mediterranean.

MSC Meraviglia will resume cruising on August 2nd, 2021, offering 3- and 4-night cruises that visit The Bahamas and the Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, sailing from Miami.

MSC Divina will be second to resume cruising on September 16th with a range of 3-, 4- and 7-night itineraries to The Bahamas and other Caribbean ports, sailing from Port Canaveral.

“It’s time to cruise again, and we are incredibly excited to open our U.S. summer 2021 cruises for booking and take a step closer toward bringing our guests back on board our ships in the U.S. this summer,” said Rubén Rodriguez, President, MSC Cruises USA.

“Looking ahead, our guests have so much to look forward to, with a choice of quick getaways or week-long vacations from Miami or our brand-new home port in Port Canaveral, all visiting our new private island, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve,” he added.

This comes ahead of the planned US debut for the cruise line’s newest ship, MSC Seashore, in November in Miami.

“Given our experience cruising in Europe since last summer, we are eager to bring our safe and enjoyable cruises back to the U.S. and remind our guests of the enriching and memorable experience MSC Cruises offers,” he added.

MSC Meraviglia will resume cruising from Miami on August 2nd, 2021, offering 3- and 4-night cruises to The Bahamas and Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, but from September 18th, she’ll alternate between seven-night eastern and western Caribbean itineraries.

As the second ship to restart in the U.S., MSC Divina will resume cruising a range of 3-, 4- and 7-night itineraries to The Bahamas and other Caribbean ports, such as Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico, from Port Canaveral.

MSC Cruises recently rolled out a comprehensive COVID-19 travel insurance plan for passengers sailing on its Mediterranean and Red Sea itineraries out of Saudi Arabia, but its not clear if it will be offering an equivalent plan for its US sailing.

Passengers booking cruises in the Caribbean from US ports should therefore ensure that their travel insurance covers potential COVID-19 medical costs and quarantine expenses.
