Fred Olsen to cruise from Dubai on new ship Borealis’ 2022 World Cruise

Dubai will be a key turnaround port on Borealis’ upcoming 2022 World Cruise with Fred Olsen Cruise Line.

The UK cruise line announced the itinerary for its new ship’s first world cruise, and Dubai, in addition to several other ports in the Middle East, is included in the itinerary.

Borealis, which formerly sailed as Rotterdam for Holland America Line before being acquired by Fred Olsen earlier this year, will cruise from Dubai to Southampton on a 23-day leg of her longer 104-night World Cruise.

The Dubai to Southampton cruise features a string of incredible destinations across Arabia, the Middle East and the Mediterranean, with 11 port calls, including Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Muscat, Aqaba and a transit of the Suez Canal.

A key attraction of this cruise will also be the port call in Haifa, Israel, the gateway to a number of iconic historical and religious sites.

Haifa is the starting point for tours to Jerusalem, to follow in the footsteps of Jewish, Muslim and Christian pilgrims among magnificent religious monuments such as Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Western Wall and Al Haram Ash Sharif; and to Bethlehem – birthplace of Jesus – to visit Manger Square and the Church of the Nativity.

Borealis will depart Dubai on March 26th, 2022, but will board passengers the day before and spend the night in port.

For the longer 104-night World Cruise, guests can board either in Liverpool on January 4th (for a 104-night sailing) or Southampton on January 6th (for a 100-night sailing).

The World Cruise includes transits of both the Suez and Panama Canals, visits to ports in America, Hawaii, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, and a three-day stay in Sydney.

“This is an itinerary packed with opportunity and is made possible by the faster speeds of Borealis, which allows us to offer 37 ports of call with fewer sea days in between,” said Clare Ward, Director of Product and Customer Service at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines.

“Three days in Hawaii will allow ample time to experience the volcanic vistas and to learn more about the historic site of Pearl Harbor,” she added. “Sail the scenic fjords of New Zealand… explore the Lost City of Petra in Jordan and admire the spectacular skylines of the bustling cities of Singapore and Dubai.”

Those who book the cruise before October 31st, 2020 will receive up to 600 pounds to spend onboard.

The unveiling of the World Cruise follows on from the launch of itineraries aboard Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ two new ships, the Bolette and Borealis, earlier this month.
