Costa makes changes to 2021 cruise itineraries following reintroduction in Europe

Costa Cruises has redesigned its 2021 summer cruise itineraries following the reintroduction of limited cruises in Europe out of Italy with enhanced health protocols.

The new cruise itineraries take Costa’s gradual resumption of cruises into account, with more ships being deployed on a continuous basis over the coming months.

From April through November, 2021 the cruise line will be sailing to more ports in the Mediterranean as well as Northern Europe.

In the Mediterranean, three ships will be deployed (Costa Smeralda, Costa Firenze and Costa Pacifica), sailing from Italy to France and Spain.

Three additional ships will be operating in the Eastern Mediterranean, all on one-week itineraries. Costa Deliziosa will head for the Greek islands, Costa Luminosa will visit Greece and Croatia, while Costa Magica will be going to Greece and Malta.

In Northern Europe, Costa Cruises will deploy four ships. Costa Fortuna and Costa Diadema will sail one-week cruises, to the Baltic capitals and the Norwegian fjords respectively.

Costa Favolosa will cruise 14-day voyages in Iceland, with an additional 9 days in the Norwegian fjords and a fortnight in Ireland, Scotland and England. Costa Fascinosa will sail a 12-day cruise to the North Cape and a 9-day itinerary in the Baltic Sea.

During spring and fall 2021, Costa Fortuna, Costa Diadema, Costa Favolosa and Costa Fascinosa will all be operating in the Mediterranean.

Costa Diadema will visit Israel and Turkey on two separate alternating two-week cruises, Costa Fortuna will offer Western Mediterranean mini-cruises, while Costa Favolosa will be deployed on mini-cruises in spring and 10-day cruises to Morocco in the fall.

Last but not least, Costa Fascinosa will sail 10-day holidays to Lisbon.

Costa said it is working with national and local authorities in the countries on its itineraries so as to offer guests a safe and enjoyable vacation experience, through the implementation of the Costa Safety Protocol in all the destinations included in the new program for 2021.

All other cruises previously scheduled between March and November, 2021 will be canceled.

In a statement Costa said it is making the necessary arrangements to inform travel agents and the customers concerned, who will be guaranteed the option of rebooking in accordance with the applicable requirements of consumer protection law.
