Jalesh announces new Indian cruise destinations for Karnika’s winter season

Jalesh Cruises, the new cruise line for the Indian market and the country’s first-ever domestic mainstream cruise line, has expanded its range of Indian cruise destinations for the winter season.

The cruise line’s only ship Karnika will arrive back in Mumbai on Thursday, having spent the Middle East summer sailing roundtrip from Dubai on 3, 4 and 5-night Arabian Gulf cruises.

Ahead of her return to her Mumbai homeport, Jalesh Cruises have announced that the cruise line will begin sailing to Ganpatipule in Maharashtra and Diu in Daman from Mumbai, becoming the first domestic cruise ship ever to do so.

Karnika will be cruising to two new Indian destinations in addition to Goa

“We are extremely excited to offer new and unexplored cruise destinations to our guests in India. Being India’s first premium cruise line, we are focused on offering our guests the best of the country’s vast coastline,” said Jurgen Bailom, President & CEO, Jalesh Cruises.

“Karnika will be the first domestic ship to sail to Ganpatipule in Maharashtra and Diu, thereby opening up new cruising frontiers in India for our guests to enjoy and for others to follow,” he added.

Karnika will depart Mumbai on September 20th on a two night cruise to nowhere and a two night, three-day cruise to Goa (Mormugao) on September 25th, she’ll also sail three night, four day cruises to Goa from Mumbai during September.

The island of Diu is famous for Diu Fort, built by the Portuguese at the eastern tip of the island of Diu during the 16th century

In October, Karnika will expand her cruise offering to include roundtrip Mumbai cruises of two nights and three days to Ganpatipule (Jaigad), as well as cruises of the same length to Diu in November.

Jalesh Cruises announcement coincides with the introduction of a 15 percent discount to guests for Diwali, Christmas and New Year voyages.

Ganpatipule is famous for its wild coastline and rugged beaches

Karnika will cruise from Mumbai to Muscat, Oman for Diwali and Christmas special itineraries while she will return to the Middle East for New Year, cruising from Dubai to Muscat, Oman.

Jalesh Cruises is a line targeting Indian cruise passengers primarily, and has proven extremely popular with the Indian expatriate community in the UAE.

When Karnika was sailing from Dubai for her Middle East season during the summer, she had the highest percentage of passengers from the source market of any other cruise that has ever departed the city, according to a Dubai Cruise Tourim official that spoke to Cruise Arabia & Africa.

Her Mumbai cruise itineraries are therefore likely to prove popular with Indian expatriates in Dubai looking for a fly-cruise holiday to add on to their vacations home.
