Royal Caribbean International has announced that its second Quantum Ultra-class cruise ship Odyssey of the Seas will homeport in Fort Lauderdale from November, 2020.
The new ship will be the first Quantum Ultra to cruise roundtrip from North America, with 8- and 6-night Caribbean cruises on offer, visiting the sun-soaked islands of the Western and Southern Caribbean.
On the longer 8-night cruises, Odyssey of the Seas will also be the first Quantum Ultra Class ship to call on Aruba and Curacao.

“Island-hopping vacationers can explore Aruba’s rugged landscape off-roading in Arikok National Park, and discover the beloved architecture and narrow streets of Willemstad, Curacao,” Royal Caribbean says of the port calls.
Odyssey’s 6-night cruises meanwhile will offer deep diving in Cozumel, Mexico; swimming with sea turtles in George Town, Grand Cayman; and a day of “thrill and chill” on Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s revamped private island.

Perfect Day at CocoCay is home to Daredevil’s Peak, the tallest waterslide in North America; Up, Up & Away, the helium balloon experience that soars up to 450 feet in the air; Oasis Lagoon, the Caribbean’s largest freshwater pool; and the pristine, white sand beaches of The Bahamas.
As part of the Quantum Ultra Class, Odyssey of the Seas is the next evolution of Royal Caribbean’s high-tech Quantum Class.

The Quantum Class ships were introduced in 2014 with Quantum of the Seas and offered unprecedented innovations in design, activities, technology and entertainment, innovations that have now been rolled out in the newer Oasis-class ships.
Royal Caribbean have kept details about Odyssey of the Seas light, but have confirmed that passengers can expect Quantum staples such as RipCord by iFLY sky-diving adventure; North Star, a glass observation capsule that takes guests more than 300 feet above the ocean; and the state-of-the-art Two70 entertainment venue.
The ship will also boast the SeaPlex, the largest and most revolutionary indoor active space at sea, featuring a trapeze school, full-size basketball court, roller-skating rink and bumper cars.
There will also be on-board an “unrivaled combination of new, soon-to-be-announced experiences”, the cruise line said in a press release
Odyssey of the Seas’s Caribbean cruises are now open for sale; and Europe itineraries will open in November 2019.
