Seabourn Odyssey emerges from bow-to-stern refurbishment

Seabourn Odyssey has undergone a major refurbishment in Genoa, Italy to give her staterooms and public spaces a refreshed look and feel, as well as modern technology updates, and rich contemporary furnishings.

“Seabourn Odyssey came out of its most extensive refit period to date recently and the response of our guests, both repeaters and first-timers, is likely to garner the same impression: the ship is even more stunning and beautiful,” said Gerald Mosslinger, Vice President of Hotel Operations for Seabourn.

Guest suites have been updated with new stone tops on the bedside cabinets and credenza, as well as new tables and designer bedding soft goods, and sofa pillows in the Veranda Suites. In the Premium Suites, meanwhile, there’s a new color palate and new furnishings throughout the entire range of top-end accommodations.

In the communal on-board hub, Seabourn Square, new high-end furniture and light fixtures have been added, while the carpet now features a whimsical design in rich, neutral tones.

The colour theme continues in The Club, where a patterned carpet with lapis blue lines plays off elegantly toned lounge chairs and refreshed banquettes. In The Restaurant, understated elegance is enhanced by toffee-toned woods, creamy caramel accents, and dramatic sheer curtains.

Here too there is a new intricately pattern carpet that feels contemporary and timeless.

In the Card Room, new chairs upholstered in a geometrically-patterned velvet are arranged around new card tables, offset against a dark grey carpet.

Entertainment and technology systems also received a number of updates during the refurbishment with new televisions installed in all guest suites, integrated with an interactive new high-definition TV system that features added channels such as BBC HD, HGTV, The Food Network, and The Travel Channel.

New internet optimisation technologies have also been installed to help improve guests’ experience across the ship.

All suites have USB 2.0 outlets on the nightstand and wireless access points, which improves overall access to the internet throughout the ship, while additional updates to the network improves overall service.

Carrying just 458 guests, the 198m Seabourn Odyssey is a smaller, ultra-luxury cruise ship, with three dining options, three lounges and six bars and cafes, as well as a large pool area and expansive spa and gym.

She will spend the remainder of the summer cruise season in the Mediterranean, cruising roundtrip from Piraeus (for Athens), before repositioning to the Caribbean in November, cruising roundtrip from Bridgetown, Barbados.
