Carnival Panorama’s “Choose Fun” water park revealed

Carnival Panorama will feature a “Choose Fun” water park named after Carnival Cruise Line’s tagline, it has been revealed in a video hosted by Shaquille O’Neal, Carnival’s ‘Chief Fun Officer.

A scuba goggles-wearing O’Neal promises the new water park will be “very, very, very, very, very, very fun.” He knows this, he says, because he helped design it with two slides: “Red Fun and Blue Fun.”

The aqua park will be similar to other WaterWorks setups on Panorama’s sister ships Carnival Vista and Carnival Horizon, as well as recently refurbished ships such as Carnival Breeze.

The aquatic activities will be free to all passengers who meet the minimum height requirement, expected to be between 42 to 48 inches.

“I made sure the twists are twistier,” O’Neal says in the tongue-in-cheek video. “I made sure that the water is waterier.”

Other play options on-board Panorama will include Carnival’s first Sky Zone Trampoline Park, which will feature a 12-lane trampoline court; a SportsSquare recreation area and ropes course; and the ever-popular SkyRide.

The Vista-class cruise ship is due for delivery in 2019 this year, one of the eight cruise ships we’re most looking forward to in 2019, and will be homeported in Long Beach, California.

The 3,934-passenger ship will offer a season of seven-night Mexican Riviera cruises throughout the rest of 2019 and 2020, until at least April, 2021.

She will be the first new Carnival ship on the West Coast in 20 years, joining Carnival Miracle, which recently had her cruise season out of San Francisco in 2020 expanded.

Carnival has added five new voyages to the mix, based on market demand, bringing Miracle’s total schedule to 27 cruises, with four-day long weekend sailings to Ensenada, Mexico, 10-day cruises to Alaska and 15- and 16-day voyages  to Hawaii from March to September 2020.

Carnival Panorama’s 7-night roundtrip Los Angeles cruises to the Mexican Riviera will be identical throughout the year, with port calls in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta in Mexico before returning to LA.
