Princess Cruises offer 2019 trans-Atlantic cruise from Cape Town aboard smallest ship

Princess Cruises are sending their smallest cruise ship, the R-class Pacific Princess, to Cape Town in 2019 for a 24-night cruise from Cape Town to Fort Lauderdale in Miami as a single leg of its 2019 World Cruise.

The 111-night roundtrip Fort Lauderdale world cruise will visit 41 destinations in 27 countries on 5 continents, featuring overnights in Cape Town and Singapore. It also includes three maiden ports of call to Stewart Island, New Zealand, the remote island of St. Helena (UK territory), and Guadeloupe.

Pacific Princess is the smallest ship in the Princess fleet.

The 24-night Cape Town to Fort Lauderdale voyage is the final leg of Pacific Princess’ 2019 World Cruise, but can also be booked as a 39-night cruise from Cape Town to Los Angeles if you want to transit the Panama Canal.

This cruise itinerary is one of the most sea-day-intensive as it includes a stretch of five straight days at sea, the most of the entire 11-day World Cruise, when Pacific Princess cruises between Saint Helena and Natal, Brazil.

After departing Cape Town, and spending two days at sea, Pacific Princess will call in Luderitz and Walvis Bay, Namibi. She’ll then head out into the Atlantic to visit Saint Helena, before arriving in Natal, Brazil.

Walvis Bay, one of the ports on the cruise, is the gateway to the Namibian interior and its wildlife.

From Brazil onwards it’s an idyllic jaunt across the Caribbean, with port calls in French Guiana, Barbados, Guadeloupe and St Maarten with never more than a day at sea, before she arrives in Fort Lauderdale on April 27th, 2019.

For passengers looking to transit the Panama Canal and cruise to Los Angeles, the 39-night voyage will call at the ports above, as well as Aruba, Costa Rica and several ports in Mexico before Pacific Princess cruises into Los Angeles on May 12th, 2019.

Pacific Princess will be sailing this Cape Town cruise, and indeed the entire 11-day World Cruise, fresh from a major refit. Built in 1999 for now-defunct Renaissance Cruises and later acquired by Princess, Pacific Princess is the line’s smallest ship.

In June, 2017, she underwent a bow to stern refurbishment that included upgrades to all public areas, as well as the introduction of Princess Luxury Beds to all staterooms, and the addition of Club Class mini-suites providing extra space and amenities.
