Saga offers trans-Atlantic Christmas and New Year cruise on new ship Spirit of Discovery

Saga’s new ship Spirit of Discovery will undertake her first trans-Atlantic cruise in time for guests to celebrate Christmas 2019 on the other side of ‘The Pond’.

The 35-night grand voyage featuring calls in the Caribbean, America and Bermuda starts from passenger’s homes with Saga’s door-to-door chauffeur service.

On December 5th, 2019, Spirit of Discovery will depart Southampton with 999 passengers aboard.

Once across the Atlantic, she’ll cruise along the east coast from tropical Key West to Miami and Cape Canaveral, while in the Caribbean, guests can travel by tram into Harrison’s Cave in Barbados and spot exotic birdlife in Dominica.

Spirit of Discovery will spend Christmas 2019 in New York.

There are two overnight port calls; the first in New York to see the iconic streets decked ready for the big event with Christmas lights aplenty, followed by Bermuda to welcome in the New Year.

Passengers aboard Spirit of Discovery will welcome the New Year in Bermuda.

The elegant ship, dressed in festive decorations, offers a special Christmas to remember with fine cuisine – plus entertainment including music from steel bands and Latin music by local performers.

Guests can also rehearse and perform in a Broadway-style show on board Spirit of Discovery as she sails across the Atlantic.

Saga Cruises are calling the voyage aboard their first ever newbuild ship, the Fairy Tale of New York, named after one of the most popular Christmas songs in the UK.
