Star Pride’s second Dubai cruise departure for 2015 cancelled by Windstar Cruises

Windstar Cruises, which recently purchased the luxury boutique cruise ship Star Pride and two others from Seabourn Cruise Line, has cancelled the cruise ship’s second Dubai cruise departure scheduled for later this year.

Star Pride was scheduled to cruise from Dubai on November 16th, 2015 on a 15-night Pearls of the Indian Ocean cruise to Singapore, a popular east-bound itinerary for cruise ships transiting between the two major cruise destinations of Asia and the Mediterranean.

Windstar Cruises have instead decided to deploy the 133m, 10,000-gross ton cruise ship to the South American market in December of this year, rather than Asia, with weeklong itineraries being offered in Central America’s Costa Rica and Panama.

Star Pride’s other Dubai cruise departure is unaffected, however. The cruise ship, the first to be launched following a major refit after her purchase from Seabourn, will still cruise from Dubai on April 24th on an 18-night Wonders of Arabia itinerary.

The Middle East cruise includes port calls in the Arabian cruise destinations of Khasab and Salalah in Oman, Safaga, Sharm El Sheikh and the Suez Canal in Egypt, as well as Jordan’s Aqaba, the gateway to the ancient rock city of Petra.

She’ll then hop across the Southern Mediterranean to Piraeus in Greece, with passengers ending their cruise in the iconic and historic capital, Athens, a city as old as civilisation itself.

Windstar Cruises are represented in the Middle East cruise market by Discover the World Marketing, who act as the cruise line’s general sales agents for the region.
